With the Double Door Petit Verdot, the boutique winery La Bri presents a powerful yet finely balanced red wine from Franschhoek in South Africa. The strictly limited cuvée comes from a particularly characterful vineyard on the estate and is part of the "Double Door" series, which leaves room for creative, terroir-driven wines.

Both the estate's own grapes and selected grapes from neighboring vineyards are used for this single-varietal Petit Verdot. The wine is vinified traditionally and matured for 24 months in French oak barrels. The ageing process ensures depth, structure and elegance - without masking the fruit.

In the glass, the wine is deep dark with violet reflections. The nose combines aromas of black fruits, tar, wild flowers and spicy notes. It is powerful on the palate, with a full body, velvety texture and a rich, long-lasting finish. A wine with presence, finesse and ageing potential.

Ideal with braised lamb, beef with a strong jus, game dishes or mature hard cheese. For vegetarians: a lentil, red wine and shallot pan with rosemary is an equally exciting partner.

Das Boutique-Weingut La Bri liegt eingebettet in das historische Franschhoek-Tal – eine der ältesten und charmantesten Weinregionen Südafrikas. Gegründet im 17. Jahrhundert, verbindet La Bri heute reiche Tradition mit modernem Weinhandwerk. Der Name „La Bri“ stammt vom französischen Wort „l’abri“, was „Zuflucht“ bedeutet – eine Anspielung auf die hugenottische Geschichte der Region.

La Bri steht für charaktervolle, handgefertigte Weine mit unverwechselbarem Ausdruck des Terroirs. Die Reben gedeihen auf sonnenverwöhnten Hanglagen mit fruchtbaren, gut drainierten Böden – ideale Bedingungen für Rebsorten wie Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon sowie Chenin Blanc und Chardonnay. La Bri Double Door Chardonnay Viognier is a white wine with a style all of its own, created from a combination of grapes from the estate and carefully selected fruit from neighboring farms. This creative blend gives the wines a special individuality and depth of character.The nose and palate are dominated by intense aromas of ripe peaches and juicy citrus fruits. The fruity sweetness is perfectly balanced by a striking, dry acidity, so that the wine remains bone-dry despite its opulent fruitiness.The Chardonnay grapes were fermented in 300-liter French oak barrels, which gives the wine a subtle woody note and a velvety texture. The Viognier was matured separately in stainless steel tanks to preserve its fresh, fruity characteristics. With the Crystal Spark, La Bri presents an expressive Cap Classique from the creative Double Door range. This sparkling wine is produced using the traditional method and matures for an exceptionally long time on the lees, which gives it its elegant perlage, aromatic depth and fine texture.The grapes come from older vineyards on the La Bri estate in Franschhoek and were carefully harvested by hand. After whole cluster pressing, the base wine was matured for several months in used French oak barrels before being bottled for a second fermentation. The subsequent ageing on the lees gives the Crystal Spark its complexity, creamy structure and a lively, fresh finish.The Crystel Spark is a versatile food companion - ideal as an aperitif or with oysters, sushi, fine antipasti or creamy goat's cheese. The Double Door Red Blend combines 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot and 6% Cabernet Franc to create a harmonious whole with structure, finesse and elegance.Only grapes from the estate were used for this wine. After fermentation, the individual batches matured for 24 months in used French barriques before being blended into a precisely balanced cuvée. The longer maturation period ensures a harmonious balance between fruit, spice and velvety tannins.The La Bri Double Door Red Blend impresses with a deep dark color and aromas of blackcurrants, plums, spices and fine roasted aromas. Powerful but round on the palate with ripe tannins and an elegant, long finish. The influence of Petit Verdot adds depth, while Merlot provides softness and Cabernet Franc freshness.An ideal accompaniment to grilled beef, rack of lamb or spicy pasta dishes. La Bri Syrah is an aromatic red wine from Franschhoek full of character, reminiscent of the great tradition of the Côte Rôtie thanks to the combination of Syrah and a hint of Viognier. A beguiling bouquet of lavender, thyme, violets and oriental spices unfolds in the glass - like a walk through a Mediterranean herb garden.The two grape varieties were harvested together in the last week of February and co-fermented to achieve a particularly intense interplay of aromas. Malolactic fermentation took place in barrels, after which the wine matured for 24 months in selected French oak barrels of 225 and 300 liters. This maturation gives the wine structure, depth and silky tannins.On the palate, La Bri Syrah is multi-layered, with dark fruit, floral notes and fine herbal spice. The tannins are polished and harmoniously integrated, while the acidity provides freshness and elegance. An seinem auffallenden Etikett ist der Mabis Biscardo Enigma Appassimento Sangiovese Rubicone IGT erkennbar. Enigma (dt. rätselhaft) hat das italienische Weingut Mabis seinen Appassimento benannt. Unter Leitung der Familie Biscardo und einigen Landwirtschaftsbetrieben der Emilia-Romagna wurde der Rotwein mit dem Hinweis an alle Weingenießer und Appassimento Liebhaber erschaffen, diesen mystischen Wein mit geweckter Neugier zu entdecken.Die Sangiovese Trauben, aus denen der Rotwein gekeltert wird, werden im Spätherbst von Hand geerntet. Die Beeren sind zu diesem Zeitpunkt teilweise getrocknet. Um den Früchten weiterhin Wasser zu entziehen, sodass Zucker und Extrakt konzentrierter werden, wird das Trocknungsverfahren fortgefahren. Ende Dezember erfolgt eine langsame Mazeration bei kontrollierten und niedrigen Temperaturen. Bis zum März reift der Wein auf der Hefe, wovon 30% in Eichenfässern.
