In Golfkreisen ist der südafrikanische Golfer Ernie Els eine Legende. Das nach ihm benannte Weingut erzeugt unter dem Winemaker Louis Strydom preisgekrönte Weine. Insgesamt werden vier Kollektionen – Signature, Major Series, Big Easy und Proprietor’s hergestellt, diese verkörpern den beliebten Charakter und das gefeierte Prestige des Namensgebers. Das Weingut wurde 2005 offiziell eröffnet und konzentriert sich seitdem auf die Herstellung einer Reihe von Weinen, insbesondere Cabernet Sauvignon. Durch die jüngsten Renovierungsarbeiten ist das Weingut zu einem ikonischen Symbol der Region Helderberg in Stellenbosch geworden.

The Neethlingshof Cabernet Sauvignon grows in Tukulu soils, a type of soil found specifically in South Africa, which consists of old granites that have decomposed. These soils have good water penetration and retention, are fertile, with a high clay content.The color of the Neethlingshof Cabernet Sauvignon is ruby red. The bouquet shows lots of plum, cherry, blackcurrant and a hint of cinnamon. On the palate, the wine is rich and full, with ripe fruit flavors supported by soft tannins.The grape juice was aged for 8 months in second-fill French wooden barrels. This gave the wine a soft woody note.The Neethlingshof Cabernet Sauvignon is a delicious all-rounder that goes well with red and white meat dishes as well as pasta and mild cheese.This dry South African red wine is vegan.
