Eikehof ist ein familiengeführtes Boutique-Weingut im südafrikanischen Franschhoek Valley in der renommierten Weinregion Western Cape. Das Weingut liegt an der bekannten Weinroute nahe La Motte und ist seit 1903 im Besitz der Familie Malherbe. Heute führt François Malherbe das traditionsreiche Gut bereits in vierter Generation und produziert seine Weine noch immer im historischen Weinkeller der Familie.

Die rund 23 bis 58 Hektar große Farm ist von alten Eichenbäumen geprägt, die dem Weingut auch seinen Namen geben („Eikehof“ bedeutet sinngemäß „Hof der Eichen“). Besonders bekannt ist das Gut für seine historischen Sémillon-Reben aus dem Jahr 1902 – einer der ältesten noch produzierenden Weinberge Südafrikas.

Eikehof setzt auf eine handwerkliche, qualitätsorientierte Weinproduktion in kleinen Mengen. Nur ein Teil der auf dem Gut angebauten Trauben wird für die eigene Vinifikation verwendet, wodurch ein überschaubares Portfolio charakterstarker Weine entsteht. Das Weingut verbindet traditionelle Methoden mit moderner Kellertechnik und legt großen Wert auf authentischen Ausdruck des Franschhoek-Terroirs.

Als kleines Familienweingut steht Eikehof für persönliche Gastfreundschaft, sorgfältige Handarbeit und hochwertige südafrikanische Weine mit regionalem Charakter.

The Paserene Elements Emerald is a Sauvignon Blanc full of energy, freshness and sophistication. It comes from two of South Africa's best-known wine regions: the cool, mineral-rich Elgin Valley and the fruit-driven Franschhoek. Eikendal Cabernet Merlot
The Eikendal Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot is a powerful red wine cuvée in the classic Bordeaux style - full of character, full-bodied and typical of the renowned Stellenbosch wine region. The nose is dominated by ripe aromas of blackberries and blackcurrants, complemented by notes of cassis and a subtle earthiness, which are particularly typical of Cabernet Sauvignon. On the palate, the wine impresses with concentrated, fleshy fruit, fine-meshed tannins and a perfect balance of fruity richness and spicy, sweetish toasted aromas of French oak.The grapes come from high-altitude vineyards on mineral-rich "Koffieklip" soil with a clay subsoil - ideal conditions for complex, long-lasting wines. The vines, planted in 2004, are trained using the vertical shoot position system with sparse irrigation in order to achieve particularly concentrated berries. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand into small crates, followed by cold maceration, spontaneous fermentation and gentle pressing. With the Eikendal Classique, the renowned wine estate from Stellenbosch presents a masterful Bordeaux-style cuvée. The combination of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot produces a complex yet supple red wine of great elegance.The nose is dominated by aromas of blue and black berries, accompanied by earthy notes, fine spice and delicate oak. On the palate, the wine is powerful, precise and balanced.
