The Cesari Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOC is redolent of dried cherries and raspberries, along with lovely notes of plums, herbs and nuances of toast and vanilla as well. This speciality from the Valpolicella region is full-bodied, warm and well-balanced on the palate, with a prolonged finish and noticeable, harmoniously integrated tannins. This blend, consisting mainly of Corvina and smaller percentages of Rondinella and Molinara, matured for a total of three years in French and Slavic oak casks. The wines produced by Gerardo Cesari are regularly awarded significantly more than 90 points by Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. Especially where the Amarone wine is concerned, the Cesari estate, whose history dates back to 1936, is one of the most renowned wineries in Italy. Monica Larner judges in the Wine Advocate: “Your wines are extraordinarily clear and balanced, every single one showing a distinctive character.”

Production area: Selected vineyards of Neviera and Casa Rossa, located in San Marzano district. The soil is mainly “terra rossa”, with a fine texture and generally a calcareous undergound with a few emerging rocks. The well-known redness of these soils is due to the presence of iron oxides. The climate is characterised by high temperatures all year round, very few rainfalls and a wide difference of temperature between night and day, which has a nice influence on the quality of grapes. This is the “classical” central area of d.o.c. ”Primitivo di Manduria” Harvest period: Third decade of August, first decade of September Vinification: Hand-harvested in small baskets. Maceration: 18 days with selected autochtonous yeasts. Thermo-controlled alcoholic fermentation at 24-26 °C Maturation: In French oak barrels for 6 months Tasting notes: Intense ruby red colour, wide and complex to the nose, fruity, with prunes, cherry jam aroma, with notes of tobacco, slightly spicy. Zenato Riserva Amarone della Valpolicella Classico
Magistral smell and taste sensation!Amarone has an impressive elegance in the center and an inviting bouquet of ripe fruit. Deep ruby red with hints of fine herbs. On the palate, the powerful, warm and rich flavorinfluences, including wild cherries and chocolate, very impressive.Excellent for a lifetime ...The absolute 'king' of this region, made from only the best grapes of exceptionally good harvests. Hand picked and selected and the grapes are let to dry out for several months with the result that much of the moisture in the grapes evaporates allowing the grapes to be very rich in sugars. The best and ripest Corvina grapes supplemented with a little Rondinella and Sangiovese. After fermentation the wine is matured in Slavonian oak casks for four years and then another 12 months in bottle.
