Viele der berühmten Weine aus Italien stammen aus der DOC Bolgheri. Bekannt ist die Region für seine Rotweine, wie Ornellaia und Sassicaia. Guado al Tasso gehört zu den wenigen Weingütern, welche auch einen hervorragenden Weißwein vinifiziert. Der Vermentino wurde erstmals 1996 produziert und erfreut sich seither großer Beliebtheit. Zahlreiche Auszeichnungen Jahr für Jahr dokumentieren die hohe Qualität dieses Weines.

Guado al Tasso Vermentino zeigt sich strohgelb im Glas. Leichte grünliche Reflexe spiegeln sich an der Oberfläche. Der Weißwein duftet wunderbar intensiv nach Zitrusfrucht, Holunderblüte und Orangeblüte. Am Gaumen ist er herrlich frisch und ausgewogen. Dank des milden Meeresklimas und einer ständigen Brise bei hoher Sonneneinstrahlung präsentiert sich dieser Vermentino extrem komplex und vollmundig.

Nicht nur solo, sondern auch in Kombination mit mediterranen Vorspeisen oder zu Spargel ein er ein wirklicher Genuss.

Tenuta Guado al Tasso

Berühmt ist die Region Bolgheri heute vor allem für seine großartigen Rotweine. Hier befindet sich die weltbekannte Tenuta Guado al Tasso. Knapp 100 km südwestlich von Florenz zwischen Livorno und Grosseto an der toskanischen Küste erstreckt sich das Weingut auf einer herrlichen Ebene von den grünen Hügel um die antike Burgstadt Bolgheri bis zum Meer.

Bei Tenuta Guado al Tasso werden ungefähr 300 Hektar bewirtschaftet. Vorrangig werden Vermentino, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot und Syrah sowie in kleinere Mengen Cabernet Franc angebaut. Durch die Nähe zum Meer ist das Klima mild und es weht immer eine leichte Brise, die die Hitze im Sommer absenkt. Seit 1830 besitzt die bekannte Weinbaufamilie Antinori das Weingut und heute leitet Piero Antinori das Unternehmen.

The Domaines Ott Clos Mireille Blanc de Blancs has a light yellow color with grey-golden reflections. On the nose, the aromas of exotic fruits, peach and citrus fruits mingle with floral notes of lime blossom and hawthorn. On the palate, this full and aromatic wine shows perfect balance, with fresh notes of grapefruit and lemongrass at the beginning, which develop into round and creamy flavors of white fruits. The long finish is reminiscent of the Clos Mireille terroir, with iodine notes and a soft licorice sweetness.The wine is a creation of 68 percent Sémillon, the particularly noble white grape variety, and 32 percent Vermentino (Rolle), a late-ripening grape variety. This rosé from Château d'Esclans is phenomenal. Fragrant notes of mango and nectarine on the nose. On the palate, spicy and minerally with impressive depth. The finish is exceptionally long. An unforgettable rosé of Côtes de Provence, created mainly of Grenache and a minor proportion Rolle (Vermentino).The grapes for the Château d'Esclans Garrus come from vines that are at least 80 years old. For this rosé the Saignée method was used (90% free run juice, 10% first slight pressing). Eight months matured the wine in oak barrels, with regular bâtonnage, the stirring of the lees. The Wine Spectator writes: "Shows impressive length and precision. A gorgeous rose. "Château d'Esclans Garrus: A rosé at Grand Cru level, and it remains unique in Provence.
