Masseria La Volpe Uno Appassimento is made from 100% Montepulciano. The grapes come from the winery’s own vineyards in the hills of Ancarano, where they grow in clay and limestone soils. The combination of this unique terroir and the traditional Guyot training system creates ideal conditions for an expressive red wine full of character.
The grapes ripen fully on the vine and are partially dried there, which naturally intensifies their aromas and concentration. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration then take place in stainless steel tanks before the wine is pressed and aged for twelve months in French oak tonneaux. The result is a fresh yet structured wine with excellent aging potential.
On the nose, aromas of ripe fruit, plum jam, and subtle spicy notes unfold. On the palate, the wine is soft and velvety with well-integrated tannins and a harmonious, long-lasting finish.
This Appassimento pairs excellently with braised beef, game dishes, and hearty pasta specialties. It also makes for an expressive accompaniment to aged cheeses or grilled meats.
