If you like the interplay of sweetness and spice, the Epicuro Salice Salentino DOC from Femar Vini is a good recommendation. With its soft creaminess and fruity character, it is very elegant.
Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera grapes are blended for the Epicuro Salice Salentino DOC from Apulia. This selection shows that this Italian wine has a powerful taste and that tannins play a decisive role here.
The bouquet keeps this promise: Spicy hints mixed with intense notes of red fruit testify to the depth that is fulfilled on the palate. Here, the tannin structure is softened into a soft, elegant mouthfeel, making the Epicuro Salice Salentino DOC very pleasantly lingering. The fruity finish then surprises with a sweetish component that one would not have initially expected from this wine.
The food pairing should be as strong in character as this wine from the Femar Vini estate. At a drinking temperature of 17 to 19 degrees, it is best enjoyed as an accompaniment to game, spicy roast meat and strongly spiced dishes.
