In the Epicuro Aglianico Puglia IGT, the Aglianico grape variety demonstrates why it is among the best and oldest varieties in southern Italy. Full-bodied, rich, and with a long finish, the Femar Vini winery in Campania has crafted a very elegant wine.
The Aglianico grapes used for the Epicuro Aglianico Puglia IGT are fermented in stainless steel tanks to produce a delicious wine that gradually develops a very intense bouquet. Mineral and volcanic rock characterize the terroir around Campania and the Veneventano region, which is why the wine is marked by a typically mild spiciness.
The robust bouquet features notes of ripe dark berries, spices, and plums, along with subtle floral accents. On the palate, this red wine offers sweet nuances, a full body, and its characteristic fruity core. All these aromas come to the fore once again in the long finish.
This deep-red wine from Italy is best served at 17 to 19 °C and should be decanted beforehand. Pair the Epicuro with dark meats—whether roasted or braised—along with bold spices and flavorful pasta dishes to truly let it shine.
