The Louis Jadot Mâcon-Villages Blanc comes from the Mâconnais region in southern Burgundy, near the Beaujolais. The appellation encompasses approximately 2,500 hectares of vineyards across 43 communes and is designated exclusively for white wines. The wine is made from Chardonnay, whose vines find ideal conditions in the limestone-rich subsoil of the Monts du Mâconnais. Louis Jadot blends grapes from various selected areas within the appellation to create this wine.
Fermentation and aging take place in stainless steel tanks. Contact with oak is deliberately avoided to preserve the Chardonnay’s freshness and crisp fruitiness.
On the nose, the wine displays floral aromas as well as notes of apple and citrus fruits. On the palate, it is fresh and crisp, with juicy apple and citrus fruit, lively acidity, and subtle mineral hints. Its light, elegant style and fresh finish make it a pleasure to drink.
The Mâcon-Villages Blanc pairs excellently with seafood, mussels, and shellfish. It is also an excellent choice with goat cheese, light fish dishes, or as a refreshing aperitif.
