Der La Couronne 2019 ist ein hochwertiger Rotwein aus der renommierten Appellation Saint-Émilion im Bordeaux, Frankreich. Diese Region ist weltbekannt für ihre reichhaltigen und komplexen Weine, die auf ton- und kalkhaltigen Böden gedeihen, was den Trauben eine hervorragende Reife und eine besondere Finesse verleiht.

Die Rebsorten, die in diesem Wein vorherrschen, sind zu 60% Merlot, die für Fülle und Fruchtigkeit sorgt, sowie 25% Cabernet Sauvignon und 15% Cabernet Franc, der Struktur und Eleganz beisteuert.
Der La Couronne 2019 ist ein klassischer Saint-Émilion mit einer tiefen, purpurroten Farbe und einem komplexen Bouquet. In der Nase entfalten sich reife Aromen von dunklen Früchten wie Schwarzkirschen und Pflaumen, ergänzt durch feine Noten von Zedernholz, Tabak und einer dezenten Würze, die auf den Ausbau in Eichenfässern hinweist.

Am Gaumen zeigt sich der Wein kraftvoll und doch harmonisch. Die reifen Tannine sind fein strukturiert und verleihen dem Wein eine samtige Textur. Geschmacklich dominieren dunkle Beerenfrüchte, die von einer leichten Röstaromatik und einer subtilen mineralischen Note begleitet werden. Die Säure ist gut eingebunden und sorgt für eine angenehme Frische, die den Wein lebendig hält. Der La Couronne 2019 hat einen langen, eleganten Abgang mit würzigen und fruchtigen Nachklängen. Insgesamt gefiel uns an diesem La Couronne, wie präzise und fein er vinifiziert wurde.

Durch seine elegante Struktur und sein vielschichtiges Aroma bietet der La Couronne 2019 ein hervorragendes Lagerpotenzial, kann aber auch jung getrunken werden. Dieser Wein passt hervorragend zu Gerichten wie gegrilltem Lamm, Rindfleisch oder gereiftem Käse und bietet eine erstklassige Verkörperung der Saint-Émilion-Weinkultur.

Saint-Émilion, located on the right bank of Bordeaux, is still not only one of the best wine-growing regions in the Bordelais, but in the whole world. The reputation of the grape juices that come from there is no coincidence. The silkiness, freshness, fruit, volume and depth give these wines something unique. It is a good thing that these values are also represented by wines such as Château Rozier, which offer this at a reasonable price without putting too much strain on the wallet.The Rozier, which is vinified from Merlot and Cabernet Franc, was allowed to mature in peace. There was no time pressure during the harvest, which was done by hand. The wine was matured for around 15 months in oak barrels.The Rozier is characterized by a sparkling, deep red. Sweet plums, licorice, stewed fruit and some spices form a fine and seductive bouquet that is harmonious, soft and opulent. Typical of a genuine Saint-Émilion, the wine is also full-bodied and dense in texture. The finish is long and elegant.Château Rozier will keep for several years, but is already a pleasure to drink after at least an hour of decanting.An absolute recommendation as a solo wine, but also with game, beef, lamb or duck!

Chante Alouette 2018 is a typical Bordeaux from the right bank of the Saint-Émilion appellation. The vines grow on gravelly soils with limestone and clay, which give the grapes a special finesse and structure. The Château Fontesteau vineyard, known for its sustainable cultivation, produces a great red wine that harmoniously combines elegance and power.In the glass, the wine is a deep ruby red with violet reflections. The nose reveals a complex interplay of aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries and ripe cherries, accompanied by subtle hints of violets, cedar wood and roasted cocoa beans. It is full-bodied on the palate, with a fine tannin structure, well-integrated acidity and a long, spicy finish with notes of licorice and tobacco.The grapes are carefully selected and vinified traditionally. Château Fontesteau Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois Supérieur AC 2019 was matured in 75% barrique barrels, 20% of which were new. This gave it additional depth and elegance. The perfect balance of fruit and wood makes it accessible at a young age, but also gives it good ageing potential.This dry red wine is an excellent accompaniment to classic French dishes such as bœuf bourguignon, rack of lamb or duck breast. It is also an excellent choice with strong cheeses or grilled beef.For best enjoyment, a serving temperature of 16-18 °C is recommended.

Château Charmail is known for producing wines that very often score significantly higher than their price would suggest. Charmail, classified as a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel, was taken over by Oliver Seze in the 1980s and underwent a "horse cure" of renewal until the wines once again reached the level of the terroir on which its vines grow. As a neighbor of Sociando-Mallet and Phélan-Ségur, the Gironde is not far away and the wine is now one of the best in the Haut-Médoc. Seze is still active as a consultant, but has handed over the vineyard to Bernard d'Halluin and his daughter Marie.2018 is the first year of the "dream trilogy" 2018, 2019 and 2020, which produced outstanding wines in the Bordelais. The cuvée consists of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 8% Petit Verdot.The appeal of this wine lies in its creaminess and fine fruit, with underlying sweet aromas. Blue and black berries, cassis, tobacco and chocolate delight the nose. Silky on the palate, with a medium-full body, toasty notes from the wood, which do not dominate, and polished tannins. The finish is long lasting.This elegant and balanced Haut-Médoc is already ready to drink, but only after about an hour of decanting. However, it should still have a span of at least 15 years ahead of it, provided it is stored properly, of course.The 2018 offers a great drinking experience at an excellent price-performance ratio. Der Babylonstoren Babel Red Blend ist ein Rotwein aus Südafrika, der mit nahezu 50 % vor allem von der Rebsorte Shiraz (Syrah) geprägt ist. Der hochwertige, in französischem Eichenholz ausgebaute Blend wird von Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot und Pinotage vervollständigt. Das Ergebnis ist ein Rotwein, der im Endergebnis des Jahrgangs 2021 „bewundernswert“ ist. Dieses Urteil stammt von Christine Rudman, die dem Babel Red Blend in John Platter’s Wine Guide 4 von 5 Sternen verleiht. Das intensive, komplexe Bouquet des rubinroten Weins vereint Noten von Kirschen, Brombeeren, Maulbeeren und Pflaumen. Diese Fruchtigkeit harmoniert wunderbar mit Noten von Vanille, dunkler Schokolade sowie tragenden Eichennoten. Rudman erkennt „dunkle Früchte, Tabak und herzhafte Gewürze“.Am Gaumen ist der Babylonstoren Babel Red Blend trocken und meisterhaft ausgewogen. Die Assemblage besitzt einen vollen Körper, angenehm weiche Tannine und eine dichte Struktur. Das Aromenspiel wird geprägt von saftigen, schwarzen Früchten, die wundervoll harmonieren mit Aromen von Tabak und Graphit. „Das Tanninrückgrat gibt Definition und Fokus“, urteilt Rudman.
