Auf Château du Retout, geführt vom Ehepaar Helene und Frederic Soual-Kopp, entstehen seit nunmehr fast 20 Jahren wunderbar klassische Bordeaux-Weine, die sich kaum hinter einem noch so großen Namen aus dem Médoc verstecken müssen. Verantwortlich hierfür ist zum einen das herausragende Terroir dieses Cru Bourgeois Supérieur, zum anderen aber auch die Hingabe seiner Besitzer, die ihr nahe der Appellation Margaux gelegenes Weingut bewußt umweltfreundlich führen und mit dem Label HVE3 (Haute Valeur Environnementale) ausgezeichnet sind. Das Beste an Château du Retout ist indes der Preis; Weine von derart umwerfender Qualität dürften weltweit kaum zu solch moderaten Preisen zu finden sein.

2020 war ein ausgezeichnetes Jahr am linken Ufer der Gironde, und so macht es uns Spaß, Ihnen diesen Wein präsentieren zu dürfen, der dominiert wird von einem hohen Anteil Cabernet Sauvignon (der Rebberg setzt sich aus 74 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 16 % Merlot und 10 % Petit Verdot zusammen).

Der du Retout 2020 wirkt verführerisch fruchtig an der Nase, mit viel Schwarzkirsche, schwarzen Johannisbeeren, Brombeeren, Pflaume und Cassis. Auch Pflaume, etwas Lakritz und Zedernholz, Gewürznoten,  Sandelholz und Kakao spielen hier mit durchaus straffen, aber gut integrierten Tanninen zusammen. Das Gesamtpaket ist äußerst intensiv, mit einem lang nachhallenden Ausklang. Ein Best-Buy-Wein, der nach etwas Dekantieren bereits jetzt schon genossen werden kann, allerdings von einer Kellerreife noch profitieren wird.

Wir empfehlen den du Retout 2020 Solo, oder aber als food-pairing mit Ente, Geschmortem, Rind, Lamm und Hartkäse.

Im Haut-Médoc, westlich der Gironde, findet man immer wieder Wein-Trouvaillen, die vielleicht keinen so großen Namen tragen, jedoch durch ein hervorragendes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis überzeugen. Hierzu zählt auch der Cru Bourgeois du Retout. Seit seinem herausragenden Jahrgang 2005 ist der saftige Rote dieses Gutes auf der Siegerstraße.

34 ha stehen hier unter Bepflanzung, wobei diese mit überwiegend Cabernet Sauvignon, einem Viertel Merlot und etwas Petit Verdot auch in etwa der Assemblage des Weines von du Retout entspricht.

Aus verlassenen Weingütern in den 50er Jahren des letzten Jahrhunderts von der Familie Kopp gegründet, führen die Eheleute Helene Soual und Fréderic Soual-Kopp du Retout auch heute noch als Familienunternehmen und legen dabei Wert auf einen sensiblen Umgang mit Natur und Umwelt. Dieser Ansatz wird durch die präzise Kellerarbeit unterstützt, so dass dieser Wein durchaus mit weitaus teureren Pauillac-Weinen, denen er ähnelt, mithalten kann.

Viel rote und schwarze Beerenfrucht, eine gute Saftigkeit und volle Textur sind das ausgezeichnete Ergebnis dieser Weinbereitung. Dabei überrascht du Retout sogar oftmals in kleinen Jahrgängen und widerlegt die Formel, man solle "kleine Weine" nur in großen Jahren kaufen.

Château Fontesteau 2020 is a remarkable red wine from the prestigious Haut-Médoc appellation in Bordeaux. The historic Château Fontesteau, which dates back to the 13th century, is surrounded by a rich ecosystem, including a forest of centuries-old oaks and a picturesque pond. During the reclassification in the Médoc, Château Fontesteau was promoted to the "Cru Bourgeois Supérieur" category, with only 14 of a total of 249 Cru Bourgeois represented in this higher category. The grapes for this red wine grow on the 35 hectares of vineyards on the 100-hectare estate on gravelly soils, which allow optimal drainage and ensure slow, even ripening of the grapes. The cuvée is made up of the typical Bordeaux grape varieties, primarily Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.After the harvest, vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks in order to preserve the fruitiness and elegance of the wine. The wine is then matured in French oak barrels, which gives it additional depth and a fine spiciness. In the glass, Château Fontesteau is a deep ruby red with violet reflections. The bouquet exudes intense aromas of blackcurrants, dark cherries and fine roasted aromas, complemented by nuances of cedar wood and graphite. On the palate, the wine impresses with a successful balance of powerful tannins, juicy fruit and well-integrated acidity. The fine spice from the wood maturation rounds off the taste and leads to a long-lasting, elegant finish.This classic Bordeaux is an excellent accompaniment to grilled beef, rack of lamb or braised duck. 2020 wurde Château Malescasse in den Rang eines Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel gehoben, die höchste Stufe, die es innerhalb dieser Klassifikation zu erreichen gilt."Schuld" daran dürfte auch der 2014 Malescasse sein, der als erster Jahrgang unter Mitwirkung des Star-Önologen Stéphane Derononcourt entstand. 54% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon und 10% Petit Verdot machen eine im besten Sinne runde Assemblage aus, wobei die malolaktische Gärung im Holzfass stattfand, bei 35% Neufassanteil und der Wein schließlich für volle 14 Monate in den Fässern nachreifen durfte.Eine rubinrote Farbe begrüßt uns, in der ausdrucksstarken Nase begegnen uns Schwarze Johannisbeere, Brombeere und Himbeere, alle mit einer schönen, reifen Note. Aromen von Röstmokka verleihen dem Wein eine große Eleganz und Komplexität. Am Gaumen sehr rund und stoffig, mit einem perfekten Spiel von Säure und Alkohol. Die Tannine sind seidig und führen zum ausgesprochen langanhaltenden und intensiven Ausklang hin.Wir empfehlen, den Wein mindestens eine halbe Stunde lang zu dekantieren.

Dieser 2016er Cru bourgeois aus der renommierten Appellation Haut-Médoc ist der beste Beweis dafür. Die klassische Assemblage aus 53% Merlot, 38% Cabernet-Sauvignon und 9% Petit Verdot bringt einen verführerischen, vollmundigen und hervorragend ausbalancierten Wein hervor. Dieser Jahrgang profitiert insbesondere davon, dass der Cabernet-Sauvignon in Ruhe ausreifen konnte und mit seiner Eleganz ein schönes Gegenstück zur üppigen Frucht des Merlots darstellt. Der Wein begrüßt den Kenner mit einem tiefen Rubingranat. In der Nase dann viele dunkle Beeren, rote Kirschen und Grenadine. Am Gaumen komplex, mit süßer Frucht und Aromen von Pflaumen und gut integriertem Holz. Viel Würze, schöne, präsente Tanninstruktur und ein langer Abgang.Der Decanter beschreibt ihn als einen der besten Malescasse überhaupt und vergibt 91 Punkte. Bewertung Falstaff: 91-93 Punkte. Der Malescasse 2016 wird mindestens für 20 Jahre lagerfähig sein; die Trinkreife wird in 2-3 Jahren einsetzen. Wer ihn heute schon probieren möchte, sollte ihn mindestens zwei Stunden vorher dekantieren.Dieser klassische Haut-Médoc Wein, ist ein Genuss zu allem Gegrilltem, aber auch zu Hartkäse, Wild oder Pasta-Gerichten. Natürlich auch als Solo-Wein eine Gaumenfreude für lange Kaminabende, gern mit einem Stück dunkler Schokolade.

Wir freuen uns, Ihnen diese spezielle Cuvée des Château Pré la Lande präsentieren zu können. Nicht nur, weil dieser Wein aus dem herausragenden Jahr 2016 stammt; auch weil er vegan ist, produziert nach dem "Demeter"- Standard und anerkannt unter dem Gütesiegel "AB", dem vom französischen Agrarministerium vergebenen offiziellen Siegel für Erzeugnisse aus biologischem Anbau.Das Château und die Weingärten liegen in Pineuilh, an einem Hang der Appellation Sainte Foy Côtes de Bordeaux, wo der Boden ausschließlich aus Ton auf einer Kalksteinschicht besteht. Das ist die Garantie für einen Wein, der Eleganz und Persönlichkeit vereint.Die Kaltmazeration wird nur unter Verwendung wilder Hefen durchgeführt. Es werden keine Sulfite während der Weinbereitung eingesetzt. Die Maischegärung dauert 5 Wochen. Die anschließende Reifung erfolgt für ca. 15 Monate in hochkarätigen französischen Eichenfässern von 300 Litern, wovon 40% neu sind. Die Assemblage besteht aus Merlot und Cabernet Franc.Die Farbe dieses wunderbaren trockenen Bordeaux ist tiefrot, die Nase ist komplex mit Aromen von roten und schwarzen Früchten, Zedernholz, Vanille und Wildkräutern. Im Mund findet man eine Mischung aus Kraft und Eleganz. Die Tannine sind fein und dicht, aber sehr gut eingebunden. Das Finale ist lang und weich mit Aromen von roten Früchten.Ein toller französischer Wein, aus umweltschonendster Herstellung, der bereits jetzt trinkreif ist, aber sicherlich noch einige Jahre auf dem Höhepunkt bleiben sollte.Als Solo-Wein prima zu genießen, aber auch passend zu Grillfleisch, Ratatouille oder Pasta-Gerichten.

Since its foundation in 1995, Bodegas Salentein has spared no effort to become one of the premium wineries in Argentina. They succeeded in hiring the star oenologist José Galante; millions were invested in the construction of the wine cellar, which was built underground in the shape of a cross using state-of-the-art technology. The Barrel Selection Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the outstanding results of this remarkable effort.This red wine from the Bodega Salentein winery is a pure Cabernet Sauvignon that was allowed to mature for 12 months in French oak barrels before being bottled. Its intensely dark, almost red-black color is striking in the glass. It has a classic Cabernet Sauvignon aroma, with blackcurrant, pepper and vanilla. Lots of flesh on the palate, with a very elegant structure and well-integrated, soft and fine tannins. The finish is long and full-bodied. Lovers of typical Cabernet Sauvignons will be delighted with the Argentinian Salentein Barrel Selection.This dry red wine is best served at 16-18 degrees and is an excellent accompaniment to grilled meat, lamb, game and mildly spiced red meat, as well as hard cheeses. A little decanting allows the aromas to come into their own.
