Das Château d´Aurilhac ist ein Cru Bourgeois des Haut-Médoc und befindet sich nördlich der renommierten Appellation Saint-Estèphe. Zu den Nachbarn gehören Sociando-Mallet und Charmail, vor denen sich d´Aurilhac jedoch keinesfalls verstecken muss. Seit Anfang des Milleniums werden hier auf höchstem Niveau Rebsäfte produziert, die die klassischen Werte Bordeauxs, zu kleinen Preisen, repräsentieren.Beim Château d´Aurilhac vereinen sich die hohen Qualitätsansprüche des holländischen Besitzers, Erik Nieuwaal, mit den optimalen Voraussetzungen eines herausragenden Bordeaux-Jahrganges.Uns fasziniert besonders an diesem Wein, wie fleischig, tiefgründig und facettenreich ist, im besten Sinne eines sehr guten Bordeaux. Die typische Assemblage aus Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot und ein bisschen Petit Verdot. Dennoch ist bereits jetzt so viel Frucht vorhanden, dass erste Trinkversuche gestartet werden können.André Kunz vergibt satte 18/20 für dieses Meisterstück eines Cru Bourgeois und führt aus: „Dichtes, tiefgründiges, kräftiges Bouquet, schwarze Beeren, Cassis, Korinthen, Lakritze. Fein konzentrierter, vielschichtiger, aromatischer Gaumen mit viel feinem Tannin, dunkler, süsser Frucht, vielfältiger, kräftiger Aromatik, langer, aromatischer Abgang.“Hinzuzufügen ist eigentlich nur noch, dass man einen besseren Bordeaux zu einem solchen Preis nicht bekommen kann. Ein Preis-Leistungs-Gigant!
