Im Glas ein heller, lebendiger Platin-Farbton mit grüner Tönung. Komplexes Bouquet von Zitronengras, Limetten, Hafermehl, ausdrucksstarker Mineralität.Am Gaumen ist der südafrikanische Wein von mittlerem Körper, aber mit klarer Säure, Aromen von Kalk, Marzipan, cremige ausgedehnte Eichen-, Apfel- und Birnbaum-Merkmale. Durch eine reine, lineare mineralische Note ergibt sich ein sauberer und langer Abgang.Von Hand gepflückt, als gesamte Partie gepresst und sofort in 300 Liter Fässer aus französischer Eiche gefüllt. Dabei wurden 60% neue Fässer und 40% Fässer, die schon bereits einmal befüllt waren, verwendet. Die Gärung fand in Eiche statt, teils als natürliche und teils als malolaktische Gärung. Die Reifung erfolgte für 12 Monate in Eichenfässern mit gelegentlichem Rühren vor dem Abfüllen in Flaschen.Dieser Weißwein aus der Region Stellenbosch passt perfekt zu gegrilltem Fisch, weißem und rotem Fleisch.

In recent years, the Delheim Grand Reserve, the flagship wine from the top South African winery Delheim, has been a guarantor of top ratings from national and international wine critics. This South African red wine was rated in John Platter's Wine Guide with at least 90 points and 4.5 to 5 stars (out of a maximum of 5). And the 2018 vintage of Delheim Grand Reserve is also the result of exceptional winemaking.On the nose, this composition of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 15% Petit Verdot and 10% Merlot is wonderfully intense and multi-faceted. The red wine from Stellenbosch combines notes of dark fruits (with blackberries and black currants predominating) with hints of tobacco and tomato leaf. There are also nuances of violets, blueberries and graphite. On the palate, Delheim Grand Reserve is dry and wonderfully elegantly balanced. The dark fruit aromas and the present tannins interact in a remarkable fashion, complemented by the delicately fresh acidity and a finish with nuances of vanilla that lingers for a good long while. The Bordeaux blend from South Africa matured for 18 months in 300-litre French oak barrels after meticulous manual harvesting of the best, healthiest grapes. Delheim attaches immense importance to using only wood that meets the highest quality standards.The Delheim Grand Reserve 2018 also stands out visually: it is a deep, dark purple in the glass with a cherry-red rim. Delheim Chenin Blanc Wild Ferment has a fresh colour with a green tint. The wine shows complexity from the natural fermentation with an array of flavours. Grapefruit, orange and white peaches on the nose with subtle savoury and oak flavours. The refined and elegant palate shows restraint, with lengthy tannins and sweet fruit that will complement a variety of dishes. The grapes were handpicked, followed by crushing, de-stemming and gentle pressing. Only two thirds of the juice was settled with enzymes; the balance was taken directly to barrel for fermentation. One third of the blend was fermented cold in concrete tanks, the other two thirds in barrel. Only natural fermentation took place. The wine in the concrete tanks spent 7 months on the lees with the balance aging in French oak barrels for 7 months. A combination of 225 and 500L barrels were used of which 20% were new.Suitable for vegans.

An all round crowd pleaser and extremely versatile bubbly crafted from a selection of the classic MCC varieties, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Both varietals were hand-picked: Chardonnay at 18-19.5°B for fruit and elegance and Pinot Noir at 18.5-20°B for complexity and length of flavour. In the cellar whole bunch pressing ensures fractional recovery. After settling of the juice the two varieties are fermented separately. They are then cross-blended along with reserve wine if necessary, bottled and left for 15 to 18 months yeast contact time before disgorgement. Light yeasty aromas and secondary tones of limey fresh fruit on the nose with rich creamy complexity on the palate. The exceptionally fine mousse contributes freshness and finesse.

The bouquet of this outstanding Chenin Blanc has a multi-layered aroma of ginger, tomato leaf, apple peel and honey. Notes of lime and quince also enrich the bouquet.The interplay of aromas continues to unfold on the palate: fresh green apple and the creaminess of coconut milk in the background. "Becomes more mineral, more salty on the palate, subtle influence of oak, adds texture rather than flavor," Rudman judges.The grapes for the Creation Estate Cool Climate Chenin Blanc come from a 15-year-old vineyard in the higher and therefore cooler part of the Hemel-en-Aarde valley. The wine was matured for seven months in older French oak barrels.Serve this golden yellow white wine at a temperature of 8 to 10 degrees. It is a fine accompaniment to gravad salmon or pancetta with fried spring onions and leeks.
