d'Arenberg The Dead Arm Shiraz 2019

The South Australian “The Dead Arm Shiraz” from d'Arenberg is a remarkable wine in many ways. The bouquet is seductive, with earthy notes and flavors of dark fruit, fennel and spicy nuances. With time, notes of sweet berries and forest floor unfold. 18 months this exceptional Shiraz matured in French and American oak barrels. On the palate the wine from the famous growing region of McLaren Vale, 35 kilometres south of Adelaide, is dense and concentrated. Aromas of plum, blackberry, mulberry and black olives as well as hints of pepper and earthy notes give a wonderful taste experience. The tannins are integrated wonderfully. The wine has a looooong finish - a pleasure that never seems to end. Complex and hearty. Dead Arm is a vine disease caused by the fungus Eutypa Lata that randomly affects vineyards all over the world. One half, or an ‘arm’ of the vine slowly becomes reduced to dead wood. d'Arenberg The Footbolt Shiraz 2021

The pretty nose is very floral with violets, lavender and rose water dancing with the more varietal purple fruits and a touch of cedar adds charming spice.The palate opens with varietal bravado and a mixture of red and purple fruits. Raspberry, blueberry and plum make way for a regional mocha character and an extra layer of complexity that includes graphite and roasted meats. It finishes with a cinnamon spicy lift and fresh, fine grain powdery tannins. Ripeness is well in check and the acid keeps the fresh and juicy palate focused.Before being renamed The Footbolt Shiraz in 1996, the Old Vine Shiraz (as it was then known) was the first wine to use the term ‘Old Vine’. When this became common practice it was altered to honour a racehorse that changed the Osborn family forever. The founder of d’Arenberg, Joseph Osborn was a successful racehorse owner and Footbolt was the pride of his stable. In 1912 he made the hard decision to sell his stable of horses to start d’Arenberg, so it is only fitting they pay homage to Joseph and his prize horse, Footbolt.

The d'Arenberg The Hermit Crab Viognier Marsanne is a white wine full of character from the d'Arenberg winery in McLaren Vale, Australia. This cuvée combines the aromatic richness of Viognier with the structure of Marsanne and offers an exceptional taste experience.In the glass, the wine has a radiant golden hue. The bouquet develops intense aromas of apricot, peach, tropical fruits such as pineapple and melon as well as floral notes of jasmine and citrus blossom. On the palate, it is full-bodied and juicy with a lively acidity that harmoniously balances the fruitiness. The finish is long-lasting with nuances of spices and a subtle minerality.The grapes for the d'Arenberg The Hermit Crab Viognier Marsanne come from vineyards with chalky soils rich in fossilized marine deposits - hence the name "The Hermit Crab". Part of the Viognier is matured in used French oak barrels to refine the structure on the palate and harmoniously integrate the fine Viognier tannins. The Marsanne component is vinified in a similar way, but is only carefully blended in the final stages of vinification.This dry white wine is a versatile food companion and harmonizes perfectly with seafood, grilled fish, Asian cuisine or poultry dishes. d'Arenberg The Olive Grove Chardonnay 2024

The nose is aromatic, enriched with white flowers, tropical fruits, apples (Granny Smith) and nectarines.The palate has considerable weight with a lovely mid palate of peach, lime and a hint of brioche. Zesty acidity leads to a long zesty finish on the palate with a hint of cashew nut, and faint, fine textured tannin. The cool year is reflected in the balanced, delicate flavors of the McLaren Vale fruit.A small portion of The Olive Grove Chardonnay underwent natural fermentation and batonnage for added complexity and mouthfeel. Maturation took place in a mixture of new and used French and used American barrels and stainless steel tanks. None of d'Arenberg's white wines undergo malolactic fermentation, as the retention of fresh, natural acidity is considered an integral part of the wine's balance and longevity.

With d'Arenberg The Stump Jump Lightly Wooded Chardonnay, gorgeous aromas of peach and honeydew melon dominate the nose with a nice dose of green apple freshness and a hint of spicy oak in the background.Nectarines complete the party on the palate with chalky acidity and a lovely mouthfeel reminiscent of custard. The oak is very subtle and brings texture and a hint of supporting spice notes.The berries are harvested from plots in the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale vineyards. After careful crushing, the juice is gently extracted from the skins using a basket press. 60% of the juice from the d'Arenberg The Stumpf Jump Lightly Wooded Chardonnay is partially or fully fermented in a blend of older French and American oak barrels to add a hint of spice and mouthfeel. After fermentation is complete, winemakers taste-test all batches to determine which best complements this smooth and fruity style of Chardonnay.With a plate of fresh seafood, chicken or salad, you simply can't go past this little gem.

Der d'Arenberg The Laughing Magpie Shiraz Viognier ist eine faszinierende Cuvée aus dem McLaren Vale, die die kraftvolle Frucht des Shiraz mit der floralen Eleganz des Viognier kombiniert. Die Fassgärungen verbleiben auf der Feinhefe, ohne vorheriges Umfüllen, und werden erst am Ende der Reifung miteinander vereint – ohne Schönung oder Filtration.Dieser trockene Rotwein harmoniert hervorragend mit saftigen Steaks vom Grill, würzigem Barbecue oder schokoladigen Desserts. Der d'Arenberg The Stump Jump Shiraz ist ein zugänglicher und zugleich charaktervoller Rotwein aus dem McLaren Vale. Benannt nach dem "Stump Jump"-Pflug, der es Landwirten erleichterte, über Baumwurzeln zu gleiten, steht dieser Wein für Tradition, Handwerkskunst und unkomplizierten Genuss. Fruchtbetont, würzig und typisch australisch.Im Glas zeigt sich der Shiraz in einem tiefen Rubinrot mit violetten Reflexen. Das Bouquet überzeugt mit intensiven Aromen von reifen dunklen Beeren, saftigen Pflaumen und schwarzen Kirschen, untermalt von feinen Anklängen an Pfeffer, Lakritz und dunkle Schokolade. Am Gaumen präsentiert sich der trockene Rotwein vollmundig und saftig, mit seidigen Tanninen und einer feinen Würze. Der ausbalancierte Abgang wird von einer angenehmen Frische begleitet.Die Trauben für diesen Wein stammen überwiegend von sehr alten Buschreben, die für ihre tief verwurzelte Qualität und Konzentration bekannt sind. Nach einer schonenden Verarbeitung wurden sie in traditionellen offenen Gärbehältern vergoren, behutsam in Korbpressen gepresst und anschließend in Eichenfässern gereift, um dem Wein seine vielschichtige Struktur und Eleganz zu verleihen. Erst nach einer sorgfältigen Reifung wurde er auf die Flasche gebracht, um sein volles Aromenspiel zu entfalten.Dieser d'Arenberg The Stump Jump Shiraz ist ein vielseitiger Speisenbegleiter und passt hervorragend zu gegrilltem Steak, würzigen Eintöpfen oder Lammgerichten. Our Cabernet Sauvignon, the unsung hero of Barossa wine, has been matured in new (20%) and seasoned (80%) French Oak for two years, achieving the structure, depth and balance expected from this premium Australian grape growing region.In 1838 a 32 year old Blacksmith, Christian Auricht, arrived in South Australia from Prussia with his wife and four children. He subsequently settled in the new hamlet of Langmeil and built a smithy, around which grew the trading centre of the village.

The Langmeil Orphan Bank Shiraz is one of the best red wines from the Langmeil winery. This dry wine is perfect for gourmets who want to taste as little sweetness as possible in their wine.
