This blend has a red color with violet shades of purple.

Initially, classic floral aromas of Malbec fill the nose. These are complemented by notes of red fruits such as strawberries and typical aromas of the Bonarda grape.

On the palate, the Kaiken Terroir Series Malbec has the typical suppleness of a Malbec, supported by the structure and depth of the Petit Verdot.

This wine completes a unique combination where Bonarda and Petit Verdot combine freshness and structure to form the foundation of the well-known and beloved Malbec. A unique wine with a persistent and long finish.

We recommend decanting the wine about 30 minutes before drinking.

Aurelio Montes und Douglas Murray gründeten Viña Montes 1987 („Discover Wine“). Ein Jahr später kamen Alfredo Vidaurre und Pedro Grand hinzu. Alle verschrieben sich einem Traum: chilenische Weine auf eine höhere Qualitätsstufe zu heben. Der Erfolg stellte sich schnell ein: der erste Montes Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon erntete 1987 schon große Anerkennung und etablierte sich als Spitzenwein genauso schnell wie Alphas Chardonnay, Merlot und Shiraz. Von Beginn an war Montes Alpha ein Synonym für höchste Qualität aus Chile. Das Weingut legt großen Wert darauf, eine Erfolgsgeschichte zu schreiben, die zu 100 Prozent chilenisch ist.

Viña Montes leistete Pionierarbeit in Apalta, einer für den Weinbau außergewöhnlich geeigneten Region im Colchagua-Tal. Die Kreationen, die aus diesen Lagen stammen, beeindruckten die Kritiker weltweit: der erste Ultra-Premium-Wein oder Super-Chilene Montes Alpha ‘M’ im klassischen Bordeaux-Stil wurde 1996 gefeiert. Beim Montes Folly – einem 100-prozentigen Shiraz – war das im Jahr 2000 nicht anders. Und auch der Purple Angel (92% Carménère), 2005 eingeführt, ist von Beginn an ein großer Erfolg.

La Finca de Apalta ist das Herzstück von Viña Montes. Auf 135 Hektar wachsen die Apalta -Trauben Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Shiraz, Malbec, Petit Verdot und Cabernet Franc. In jüngerer Zeit kamen Mourvèdre, Grenache und Carignan hinzu.

Kaiken Malbec

The Kaiken Estate Malbec comes from the Agrelo vineyards in Luján de Cuyo, around 40 km south of Mendoza. The region's warm daytime climate and cool nights produce grapes with good freshness and aromatic fruit. The deep clay soils support a balanced red wine with soft tannins and a pleasant structure.The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented in concrete tanks after destemming. Part of the wine matures for a few months in French oak barrels, while the larger part is matured without wood contact. This keeps the wine juicy and fruity, with a subtle spiciness and soft tannins.In the glass, the Kaiken Malbec is a deep ruby red. The nose is dominated by aromas of plums and cherries, supported by light floral notes. On the palate, the Malbec is fresh, balanced and easily accessible.It is ideal with grilled or roasted meat, pasta with strong sauces or semi-mature cheese. Serve at 15-17 °C; decanting is not necessary.Kaiken Estate Malbec is an uncomplicated, fruity red wine - perfect for everyday enjoyment.

Kaiken Terroir Series Cabernet Sauvignon

Like "Kaikenes" - Patagonian wild geese crossing the Andes between Chile and Argentina - the famous winery Viña Montes has gone the way from Chile to Argentina to lead the project “Kaiken” to success. Kaiken uses the best growing areas of Argentina - Maipú, Cruz de Piedra, Ugarteche, Agrelo and Valle de Uco. The blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Malbec and 8% Petit Verdot comes from vineyards in Agrelo and Valle de Uco. It has a very dark reddish-purple colour. On the nose it offers the classic Cabernet aromas of black currants and juicy cherries, elegantly highlighted with the subtle scent of violets of Malbec and perfectly integrated oak notes. On the palate, Cabernet Sauvignon provides the juicy dark berry flavors, Malbec complements with silky mature tannins and Petit Verdot completes the blend with clear structure and depth, powerful with a rich, fresh fruit. The finale has a nice length. Enjoy the blend, matured to 50% for ten months in French oak barrels, with hearty lamb or roast beef in red wine sauce, grilled beef steaks, spicy pasta dishes and spicy mature cheeses.
