The Barbadillo Mil Pesetas Oloroso Sherry is a classic oxidatively matured sherry from the traditional Barbadillo bodega in Sanlúcar de Barrameda in the Andalusian sherry region of Jerez-Xérès-Sherry. The "Mil Pesetas" line refers to historic soleras from the bodega's cellars of the same name and stands for authentic, traditionally matured sherries with a clear character of origin.The basis is the Palomino Fino grape variety, which grows on the limestone-rich soils of the region and is ideal for the production of classic sherries. For an Oloroso, the base wine is fortified so that no flor yeast is produced. As a result, the wine matures purely oxidatively in the solera system in wooden barrels, whereby it gains concentration, depth and aromatic complexity over time.In the glass, the Oloroso has a deep amber color.
