Barbadillo Mil Pesetas Oloroso Sherry

The Barbadillo Mil Pesetas Oloroso Sherry is a classic oxidatively matured sherry from the traditional Barbadillo bodega in Sanlúcar de Barrameda in the Andalusian sherry region of Jerez-Xérès-Sherry. The "Mil Pesetas" line refers to historic soleras from the bodega's cellars of the same name and stands for authentic, traditionally matured sherries with a clear character of origin.

The basis is the Palomino Fino grape variety, which grows on the limestone-rich soils of the region and is ideal for the production of classic sherries. For an Oloroso, the base wine is fortified so that no flor yeast is produced. As a result, the wine matures purely oxidatively in the solera system in wooden barrels, whereby it gains concentration, depth and aromatic complexity over time.

In the glass, the Oloroso has a deep amber color. The bouquet is intense and multi-layered with aromas of roasted almonds, walnuts and dried fruit, accompanied by notes of caramel, spices and fine wood. On the palate, it is powerful and dry with nutty, slightly salty and spicy nuances that lead to a long, aromatic finish.

This characterful sherry is a versatile accompaniment to food. It harmonizes particularly well with mature cheese, tapas, roasted nuts, braised dishes or game, but can also be enjoyed as a meditative solo wine. Its aromatic depth and oxidative style make it a classic representative of the Oloroso style from Barbadillo.

Barbadillo Mil Pesetas Amontillado Sherry
Barbadillo Mil Pesetas Amontillado Sherry is a classic amontillado sherry from the traditional Barbadillo bodega in Jerez-de-la-Frontera in Andalusia (Spain). It combines the freshness of an organically matured fino with the complexity of an oxidatively matured sherry and displays an impressive spectrum of aromas and harmonious balance.Like a fino, the wine begins its development under a layer of flor yeast in the traditional solera and cridera system. After biological maturation, the protection provided by the flor is deliberately ended and the wine continues its maturation by oxidation. This double process results in an Amontillado that displays both fresh, yeasty-bready notes and nutty, spicy depth. In the glass, the Mil Pesetas Amontillado has a warm golden hue with amber reflections. The nose reveals elegant notes of roasted almonds, hazelnut and honey, complemented by hints of dried fruit, caramel and fine spicy minerality. On the palate, it is dry, round and harmonious with a lively acidity and a pleasant depth that is supported by nutty and slightly salty nuances. The finish is long, balanced and pleasantly complex.Served at 10-12 °C, this sherry is an excellent accompaniment to tapas with nuts, Jamón Ibérico, mature cheeses, mushroom dishes or roasted poultry. It is also a stylish digestif companion on its own.

Barbadillo Mil Pesetas Pedro Ximenez Sherry
The Barbadillo Mil Pesetas Pedro Ximénez Sherry is an opulent, noble sweet sherry from the traditional Barbadillo house in Sanlúcar de Barrameda in the famous Jerez-Xérès sherry growing region in Andalusia. The "Mil Pesetas" line stands for the bodega's classic solera sherries, which reflect the house's long history and craftsmanship. This sherry is made from 100% Pedro Ximénez grapes. After harvesting, the grapes are often dried in the sun, which causes water to evaporate and concentrates the sugar and aromas. The wine then matures oxidatively in the traditional solera system, which allows it to develop its enormous density, complexity and depth. In the glass, the wine has a dark mahogany to amber color. The bouquet is intense and rich with aromas of raisins, dried plums and dates, accompanied by notes of chocolate, caramel and fine wood. On the palate, Pedro Ximénez is extremely velvety, syrupy and full-bodied, with an enormous sweetness and a long, aromatic finish that is strongly reminiscent of raisins and dried fruit. As a classic dessert sherry, it is an excellent accompaniment to chocolate desserts, ice cream, caramelized desserts or blue cheese. Barbadillo Mil Pesetas Fino Sherry
Barbadillo Mil Pesetas Fino Sherry is a classic, dry, organically matured sherry from the famous Barbadillo bodega in Jerez-de-la-Frontera (Andalusia, Spain). The nose is dominated by fresh, delicately spicy aromas of green apple, citrus, almonds and sea salt. On the palate, the sherry is dry, clear and lively with a transparent structure, pronounced freshness and a mineral finish.Served at 6-8 °C, this fino is a classic aperitif sherry that goes wonderfully with oysters, seafood, sushi, olives or tapas such as Serrano ham. Its lively acidity and salty note also make it a refreshing accompaniment to light, salty dishes.

Barbadillo Mil Pesetas Manzanilla Sherry
Barbadillo Mil Pesetas Manzanilla Sherry is a classic, lively manzanilla sherry from Jerez-la-Franca, the coastal part of the sherry region in Andalusia (Spain). It is produced by the traditional Bodega Barbadillo and stands for the unmistakable freshness, saltiness and finesse that characterize Manzanillas from near the sea.The grapes come mainly from Palomino-Fino vines, which grow on the chalky and gravelly Albariza soils around Jerez. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine matures in the classic solera and criadera system, where it is permanently stored under a protective yeast called flor. Especially in Jerez-la-Franca, close to the Atlantic coast, the cooling sea factor ensures that the flor yeast remains stable for longer and the wine develops its fresh, elegant minerality.Color: Pale straw yellow with silvery reflections.Nose: Fresh, clear aromas of green apple, lemon, sea salt and almonds.Palate: Dry, lively and precise, with a pronounced salty minerality, fine texture and pleasant acidity. Typical of Manzanilla is its almost maritime character, reminiscent of sea salt, chalk and breeze.Served at 8-10 °C, Barbadillo Mil Pesetas Manzanilla reveals all its freshness. It is ideal as an aperitif and harmonizes perfectly with oysters, seafood, sushi, olives, gazpacho or light tapas. It is also an ideal accompaniment to light fish dishes and salads.
