19 Crimes Chard „Behind Bars“

The wines of the "19 Crimes" line recall people convicted of at least one of nineteen crimes in Britain who were exiled to Australia instead of being sentenced to death. In many cases, those who survived the journey across the seas built a new life there, thus becoming part of a newly emerging country.The "Hard Chard Behind Bars" commemorates the courageous actions of the women who were among the exiled as well. The Chardonnay from South Australia is powerful, showing lots of character. On the nose, it offers noticeable wood aromas. The multi-layered bouquet is complemented by aromas of stone fruit and ripe fruit, along with toasted oak notes and nuances of butterscotch and honey. The golden Chardonnay is structured and creamy. Its finish is enriched by notes of butter and vanilla.

Alto Rouge 2020

The Alto Rouge consists of 5 grape varieties: Cabernet Franc, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The grapes for this wine come from north- and northwest-facing vineyards located on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains. Thus, the vines are cooled by a fresh breeze in the afternoon, supporting the wine’s elegance and balance. The Alto Rouge is a deep ruby-red in the glass. On the nose, aromas of red fruit are predominant, along with hints of chocolate and light notes of woodchips. This cuvée is distinguished by its soft tannins and wonderful fruit aromas. Overall, this is a wine with style, lots of complexity and a high ageing potential. Winemaker Bertho van de Westhuizen recommends enjoying the Alto Rouge with game birds and tender red meat.

The Valmoro Rueda Verdejo from the Álvarez y Díez winery is an authentic wine from the Rueda region in Spain. In the high altitudes of the Rueda region, there are significant temperature differences between day and night. This gives the vines a good balance between sugar and acidity. To emphasize the fruit, the harvest takes place at night. This allows fermentation to begin in the coolest possible conditions.In the glass, the dry Spanish white wine shines bright yellow. Buena Vista Winery ist eines der ältesten Weingüter Kaliforniens und wurde 1857 gegründet. Der Legendary Badge Zinfandel ist ein Rotwein aus Zinfandel. Die Trauben stammen aus Weinbergen in ganz Kalifornien, darunter auch ein wenig aus dem Russian River Valley. Der Wein ist nach dem Gründer (Graf Agoston Haraszthy) des Weinguts benannt, der in seiner früheren Laufbahn auch Sheriff und ein "legendary badge" war.Der Buena Vista The Legendary Badge Zinfandel ist reichhaltig und vollmundig im Geschmack. The must was allowed to ferment at controlled temperature (21 ° C) without malolactic fermentation.Tasting NotesTramin is the cradle of Gewürztraminer, and the village claims the best vineyards dedicated to the variety planted around the village the west bank of the Adige valley. Gewürztraminer has a distinctive reddish-yellow color with green hues when fully mature. The most famous vineyards are in the Tramin subzones of Söll (Sella) and Rungg (Ronchi), where the wine becomes rich and silky in texture, minerally and structured.
