Penfolds Father Grand Tawny 10 Years

With regard to the production process and the type of wine, the Penfolds Father Grand Tawny is similar to a port wine, though it is not allowed to bear the protected term ‘port’. However, this does not diminish the wine’s quality and characteristics - on the contrary, Penfolds, Australia’s most famous winery, has produced a genuine delight. The different base wines are at least 10 years old. Wines of an average of 15 different vintages unite to create the Penfolds Father Grand Tawny, thus ensuring that the nuances of each vintage produce a concentrated Tawny. The base wine is traditionally enriched with specially distilled alcohol containing between 78 and 85 of alcohol by volume, simultaneously increasing both the Tawny’s alcohol content and its complexity. In the glass, the Father Grand Tawny is a light brown of medium intensity with hints of yellow and green at the rim. On the nose, it offers wonderful notes of oak, chocolate, plums and roasted nuts, complemented by nuances of cloves and anise. On the palate, the Tawny shows its full power and elegance, offering sweet notes of fruitcake and concentrated wood aromas. Its finish is wonderfully balanced, fresh and long-lasting.The Penfolds Father Grand Tawny 10 Years is lovely on its own as an aperitif and goes beautifully with sweet desserts.

Die Trauben für den Piekenierskloof Shiraz aus der Citrusdal Mountains Region in Südafrika wachsen an Buschreben auf sandig lehmigem Boden. Dieser Rotwein zeigt ein funkelndes Dunkelrot im Glas. A red wine from South Africa that is simply fun and a perfect companion for carefree hours: the Plaisir de Merle Estate Red is a blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc. The blend matured for around one and a half years in French (70%) and American (30%) oak.The result is a small feast for the senses: Petit Plaisir smells of ripe cherries, blackberries, dark plums and blackcurrants. There are also nuances of raspberry, dark chocolate and vanilla.On the palate, this South African ruby red wine from the Paarl region is dry, aromatic and wonderfully smooth, with firm, velvety tannins. The grippy tannins provide structure and longevity, while the wine remains pleasantly balanced.After careful selection, the hand-picked grapes were destemmed and cold macerated for four days before fermentation was initiated with selected yeast strains. Regular pumping over and punching down guaranteed optimal extraction of color, aromas and tannins. After alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, the wine matured for 12 months in a combination of new and multi-seasoned French and American oak barrels, giving it depth and elegant spice.This Shiraz is the ideal accompaniment to grilled meat, game dishes, rack of lamb or spicy cheese. Raka Rosé Dry 2024

The Raka Rosé brings a breath of fresh air to every glass - with its juicy fruit, fine structure and dry finish. Made from an elegant cuvée of Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, this South African rosé combines lightness with character. It comes from the Klein River Ward in the renowned Walker Bay region of the Western Cape - a coastal location known for cool nights and intense aromas in the grapes.In the glass, the Raka Rosé shines in an appetizing melon pink with a subtle orange shimmer - a play of colours that immediately makes you want to take the first sip. Lively notes of strawberry and cherry unfold on the nose, delicately accompanied by a hint of candy floss. On the palate, the wine is dry, animatingly fresh and slightly tangy, with a fruity finish and well-integrated acidity.The cuvée consists of selected lots of Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc - each pressed at only 6-15% to extract the delicate rosé aromas while maintaining the balance between freshness and structure. The style is modern, dry and fruity, yet clear and uncomplicated with South African charm.All grapes were carefully harvested by hand and gently pressed immediately after sorting. The maceration time was around 4 hours in order to achieve the desired color intensity and aroma. The juice was fermented with pure yeasts at a controlled temperature of around 16 °C to preserve the freshness and fruit. Before bottling, the wine clarified naturally by gravity and was then gently filtered.Served well chilled, this rosé is ideal with light dishes: whether seafood, summer pasta, antipasti or cold platters with ham and cheese - it is versatile and also cuts an excellent figure on its own as an aperitif or sundowner.
