This top wine from Veneto has an intense, garnet red color. The grape varieties Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara, which are characteristic of the region, give the wine its unique taste. Intense and persistent cherry aromas on the nose. On the palate, it is velvety, slightly bitter and reminiscent of cherry and bitter almonds. Incidentally, the Italian "amaro" means bitter. The grapes ripen on the hills of the small villages around Verona at an altitude of 150 to 400 meters above sea level. They are harvested by hand, usually at dawn or in the evening. This prevents the harvested grapes from being exposed to excessive heat and losing freshness.The quality of the grape skin is particularly important for Amarone, as it determines the tannins, color and flavor intensity. Incidentally, legend has it that a cellar worker in the 1930s actually wanted to create Recioto, but forgot the wine in the barrels. The Bulgarini Gerumi Garda Merlot DOC is a powerful and elegant red wine from the municipality of Cavriana in the province of Mantova, in the heart of the morainic hills south of Lake Garda. This region, characterized by clayey and gravelly soils, offers ideal conditions for the cultivation of Merlot and gives the wine its characteristic depth and complexity.The grapes come from carefully selected plots and are only harvested by hand in particularly favorable vintages. After briefly drying the grapes in small crates, they are gently destemmed and macerated for around ten days. Malolactic fermentation gives the wine additional roundness before it matures for twelve months in medium-toasted oak tonneaux. Subsequent bottle ageing for a further five to six months ensures harmony and depth.In the glass, Gerumi is an intense ruby red with violet hues. The bouquet is broad and complex, characterized by ripe cherry, pickled wild berries and fine spicy notes. Aromas of vanilla, cinnamon, cloves and black pepper combine with hints of roasted coffee, tobacco and licorice, giving it an unmistakable profile.On the palate, the wine is warm, full-bodied and powerful, with soft tannins and a long, harmonious structure. The ruby-red wine shows an intense bouquet of sweet sour cherries and chocolate along with a lovely spice, floral nuances and balsamic notes, complemented by subtle hints of sweet tobacco and coffee. On the palate, this Amarone is sumptuously fruity, powerful, elegant and harmonious, showing a remarkable balance of fruitiness, alcohol content and body. The Loam Cabernet Merlot Riserva consists of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. This is a cuvée that could have been produced in the Bordeaux region. The method of ageing is also similar to that used in Bordeaux. After a meticulous harvest by hand, the grapes are fermented in large wooden casks at a temperature of 82.4 °F, leading to an intense aroma and colour, amongst other things. The ageing was carried out in small barriques for a period of 12 months. Subsequently, the wine matured for six months in large wooden casks. It was put on the market only after ageing another six months in the bottle. The special quality of the grapes, the interaction of the different grape varieties and the careful production guarantee the longevity of the Loam. This wine will be extraordinary even in ten years. The Cantina Tramin Loam Cabernet-Merlot Riserva is fruity and well-balanced. The intense but fine tannins are wonderfully integrated, giving the wine power, balance and an enormous depth.The Loam is a ruby red in colour. On the nose, it offers fruity, slightly astringent aromas of wild cherries, chocolate and various berries, complemented by notes of wild herbs. Each sip caresses the palate with aromas of red berries, dried fruit and subtle hints of cedar. The tannins underpin the finish with a blend of mineral and salty nuances.Enjoy the Cantina Tramin Loam with roasts with dark sauces, game or hearty grilled meat. Casisano Brunello Di Montalcino DOCG, the name already tells us its origin. Produced in Montalcino, a small town in the Tuscan province of Siena, from the Sangiovese Grosso grape typical of the region. This Brunello comes from the Italian vineyard Casisano, which is surrounded by centuries-old forests at an altitude of 480 meters above sea level in the hills south-east of Montalcino. The soil here is rich in stones and galestro (schistose clay).This wonderful red wine was produced traditionally and according to the strictest DOCG rules. Maceration took place on the skins for around 25 days. the wine matured for 3 years in Slovenian oak barrels with a maximum capacity of 60 hl. After bottling, the wine was left to mature for a further 6 months.The color of the Casisano Brunello Di Montalcino DOCG is deep ruby red with garnet reflections. The nose reveals the elegant and fresh complexity of the fruity and spicy notes that are typical of Sangiovese Grosso. The red wine pampers the palate with rich fruit and velvety tannins. The finish is surprisingly long.The wine is the perfect accompaniment to game dishes, grilled red meat or mature cheese at a drinking temperature of 18°C.
