The Creation Estate Art of Pinot Noir is a red wine from South Africa and ranks among the flagship examples of winemaking craftsmanship at the Cape. This Pinot Noir offers a fascinatingly multi-layered bouquet of rose petals, dark cherries, allspice, pepper, and anise. Winnie Bowman awards this Pinot Noir from the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley 4.5 stars (94 points!) in John Platter’s Wine Guide. Bowman notes earthy aromas of red and black fruits.The aromatic intensity on the palate is equally impressive. Lush notes of cherries and plums intermingle with earthy aromas of mushrooms and spices. Bowman further writes of a “spicy, defining tannin structure from 60% new oak for 12 months” and of a top-class wine with purity, precision, and enduring structure.This light ruby-red Pinot Noir matured for one year in oak barrels, about half of which were new. The barrels are meticulously selected—only the very best are used for this South African red wine. A large portion of the wine is vinified with whole bunches, without destemming or crushing.
