The Creation Estate Art of Pinot Noir is a red wine from South Africa and ranks among the flagship examples of winemaking craftsmanship at the Cape. This Pinot Noir offers a fascinatingly multi-layered bouquet of rose petals, dark cherries, allspice, pepper, and anise. Winnie Bowman awards this Pinot Noir from the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley 4.5 stars (94 points!) in John Platter’s Wine Guide. Bowman notes earthy aromas of red and black fruits.The aromatic intensity on the palate is equally impressive. Lush notes of cherries and plums intermingle with earthy aromas of mushrooms and spices. Bowman further writes of a “spicy, defining tannin structure from 60% new oak for 12 months” and of a top-class wine with purity, precision, and enduring structure.This light ruby-red Pinot Noir matured for one year in oak barrels, about half of which were new. The barrels are meticulously selected—only the very best are used for this South African red wine. A large portion of the wine is vinified with whole bunches, without destemming or crushing. This method is particularly well suited to Pinot Noir, as it allows for greater extraction of color, aroma, and structure.Look forward to an outstanding Pinot Noir best enjoyed at a serving temperature of 16 to 18 degrees Celsius. The bouquet of this outstanding Chenin Blanc has a multi-layered aroma of ginger, tomato leaf, apple peel and honey. Notes of lime and quince also enrich the bouquet.The interplay of aromas continues to unfold on the palate: fresh green apple and the creaminess of coconut milk in the background. "Becomes more mineral, more salty on the palate, subtle influence of oak, adds texture rather than flavor," Rudman judges.The grapes for the Creation Estate Cool Climate Chenin Blanc come from a 15-year-old vineyard in the higher and therefore cooler part of the Hemel-en-Aarde valley. The wine was matured for seven months in older French oak barrels.Serve this golden yellow white wine at a temperature of 8 to 10 degrees. Creation Estate Syrah Grenache

On the palate, the Creation Estate Viognier is full and fruity, with a pleasantly soft mouthfeel, crisp minerality and beautifully integrated acidity.Jean-Claude and Carolyn Martin are behind Creation Wines. The success story of the winery in the Walker Bay region began in 2002. Creation Wines was the first winery to plant Viognier in the Hemel-en-Aarde valley, where the grapes ripen on the coolest, south-facing slopes. The slow ripening process ensures that the grapes gain aromas. At the same time, the fresh acidity is retained.Try this white wine, which is deliberately not matured in wood, at a drinking temperature of 10 to 12 degrees.
