Dunkelviolett, fast schwarz, fließt der Creation Estate Syrah Grenache ins Glas. Diese Komposition aus 75 Prozent Syrah (Shiraz) und 25 Prozent Grenache duftet verführerisch nach reifen schwarzen Oliven, Tapenade (Olivenpaste aus der südfranzösischen Küche, u.a. mit Oliven, Anchovis und Kapern), reifen Pflaumen und Umami (in etwa: herzhaft, würzig).  

Am Gaumen ist dieser Rotwein im Rhône-Stil voll und aromatisch tief. Die Tannine sind geschmeidig, dazu kommt eine überraschend frische Säure. Im Nachhall ist der typische Syrah-Pfeffer merklich.
    
14 Monate lange haben die Macherinnen und Macher von Creation Wines den Rotwein im Eichenholz ausgebaut. Sie nutzten dafür zu einem Viertel neue Fässer.

Creation Wines ist ein renommiertes Weingut in Südafrika, das sich in der Walker Bay Weinregion in der Nähe von Hermanus befindet. Das Weingut wurde 2002 von Jean-Claude (JC) und Carolyn Martin gegründet und ist für seine erstklassigen Weine und sein Engagement für Nachhaltigkeit und Umweltschutz bekannt.

Das Weingut erstreckt sich über 40 Hektar und produziert eine Vielzahl von preisgekrönten Weinen, darunter Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Syrah und mehr. The Anthonij Rupert Syrah comes from strictly selected vines from the Franschhoek Valley in South Africa. A pre-selection is made as early as the hand-picking stage. Only the best grapes find their way into the wine. Both the fermentation and the subsequent maturation, which lasts an average of 21 months, take place in French oak barrels. The Anthonij Rupert Syrah was then bottled unfiltered and matured for a further 2 years. The red wine has a wonderful aroma of violets, plums, raspberries and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is amazingly complex but extremely multi-faceted. Beautiful fruity notes are in harmony with spicy notes and a gently integrated tannin structure. The finish is also juicy, balanced and convincingly long.For a long evening in front of the fireplace or as an accompaniment to a festive meal, you will hardly find anything better. Open the wine at least two hours before drinking and give it some time to develop in the glass.

The Life from Stone Sauvignon Blanc from Springfield Estate in Robertson, South Africa, is an impressive example of the region's exceptional minerality. On the estate's extremely stony quartz soils, the vines thrive in challenging conditions, giving the wine its characteristic pebbly, mineral expression. Every step in the vineyard reflects the meticulous handiwork of Springfield Estates: the planting of the older vines required monumental efforts, sometimes even the use of dynamite, to penetrate the hard rock.The vines are planted on a gently south-facing slope with 6060 vines per hectare. The climate is characterized by moderate summers with cool nights and cold winters, while the southeast wind in summer ensures healthy, aromatic grapes. These grapes are harvested at night and immediately protected with dry ice to preserve their freshness and fine aromas. Before bottling, only a 2.5-micron filtration is carried out - a gentle treatment that preserves the natural freshness and complexity of the wine.Intense minerality meets fresh citrus and green apple notes, which are typical of Sauvignon Blanc. On the palate, the white wine has a powerful, concentrated body, fine elegance and a long, lively finish.Perfect with grilled vegetables, goat's cheese, light pasta dishes with herb or lemon sauces and fresh salads. The bouquet of this outstanding Chenin Blanc has a multi-layered aroma of ginger, tomato leaf, apple peel and honey. Notes of lime and quince also enrich the bouquet.The interplay of aromas continues to unfold on the palate: fresh green apple and the creaminess of coconut milk in the background.
