Die Familie Basson gibt dem Wein ihren Namen. Auf dessen Farm werden die Reben gepflegt und bearbeitet. Nach dem Vergären in offenen Edelstahltanks wird der Wein für 14 Monate in Fässern aus französischer Eiche der 2. und 3. Füllung und dann für weitere 24 Monate in der Flasche gereift. Der Cape of Good Hope Basson Pinotage duftet nach einer Gewürzmischung und dunkler Pflaume mit einem Hauch von Leder. Den Gaumen umgeben interessante Aromen von Gewürznelken und pikanten Rauchnoten. Dieser Rotwein ist herrlich weich und mit sanften Tanninen ausgestattet. Das Finale zeigt sich fest strukturiert und langanhaltend.

Der Cape of Good Hope Basson Pinotage ist geradezu gemacht für ein pikantes Essen vom Grill oder einen Wildschweinbraten.

Anthonij Rupert Protea Chardonnay
The grapes for the Protea Chardonnay from the Anthonij Rupert estate come from different vineyards located in the wine-growing regions of Franschhoek and Robertson. The grapes of individual parcels of land were vinified separately and partly aged in French oak casks in order to give the wine a higher complexity and structure. In the end, all grapes were blended and bottled. On the nose, the Anthonij Rupert Protea Chardonnay offers aromas of blood orange, grapefruit and lemon. On the palate as well, the wine offers lively notes of citrus fruit and noticeable juicy aromas of blood orange and grapefruit. Due to its fresh texture, the wine is wonderfully juicy and fully developed. The Protea Chardonnay is an ideal accompaniment to all kinds of hearty salads. The grapes for the Protea Shiraz come from vineyards located in the Darling region in South Africa where the soils consist mainly of sand and clay. These soils provide ideal growth conditions for the Shiraz grapes. The wine is an intense dark red in colour.
