Herrlich fruchtige Noten von Himbeere, Erdbeere, Johannisbeere und Kirsche prägen das Bukett des Shannon Pinot Noir. Am Gaumen ist dieser Rotwein aus Südafrika kraftvoll und elegant, mit einem Geschmacksspektrum, das von hellen zu dunklen roten Beeren reicht. 

80 Prozent vom Most des Shannon Pinot Noir wird spontan vergoren. Der Wein wird elf Monate im französischen Barrique ausgebaut.  Dabei kommen zu 10 Prozent neue Fässer zum Einsatz, zu 50 Prozent Fässer zweiter Füllung und zu 40 Prozent Fässer dritter Füllung.

Das Weingut Shannon ist im Elgin Valley angesiedelt, etwa 70 Kilometer südöstlich von Kapstadt. Das Tal galt lange als das Zentrum des Anbaus von Äpfeln und Birnen in Südafrika. Was Shannon Jahr für Jahr beweist: Auch für den Weinbau sind die Bedingungen ideal.
