Hamilton Russell Chardonnay

The prestigious Hamilton Russell Vineyards estate in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley stands for precise craftsmanship and terroir-driven elegance.

This Chardonnay grows on weak, stony, clay and iron-rich soils, which give the wine a distinct minerality, clear structure and remarkable depth. The grapes are carefully selected and fermented in 300-liter French oak barrels, some of which are aged in new barrels and the rest in barrels of different ages. This careful barrel treatment gives the wine fine vanilla and subtle nutty notes without overpowering the freshness and expression of the fruit.

In the glass, the wine has a bright color and a firm, elegant body. The nose delights with clear, vibrant aromas of pear and lime, accompanied by subtle spice and fine mineral nuances. An elegant, structured wine unfolds on the palate, enlivened by its fresh, natural acidity. The texture is soft yet intense, and the long, dry finish underlines the fine minerality and lively fruitiness - a wine with a strong expression of origin and character.

This Chardonnay unfolds its full potential with grilled or roasted poultry, white meat dishes, fine fish or creamy pasta dishes. Serve at 10-12 °C to enjoy its freshness, fruitiness and minerality to the full.

Hensel Aufwind Pinot Blanc - Chardonnay
The unusual combination of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc in this Hensel wine offers an exciting drinking experience. Spring-like, white Burgundy cuvée with initially delicate, floral notes of Pinot Blanc, accompanied by opulent Chardonnay aromas reminiscent of fresh bananas. Equally bivalent in the mouth with a wiry, nervy structure and freshness, the Chardonnay partner guarantees juicy, ripe fruit and a perfectly balanced sweetness and acidity. A wonderfully elegant, versatile white wine from the Palatinate from the Hensel winery for the open-air season. The Hensel Aufwind Pinot Blanc Chardonnay goes well with light summer dishes such as pasta and salads. You can also try this dry wine with grilled chicken burgers.

Springfield Methode Ancienne Chardonnay
The Springfield Estate Méthode Ancienne Chardonnay comes from the Robertson wine region and is made according to the old Burgundian tradition - a technique rarely used in the New West with wild yeasts and without fining or filtration. The vines grow on gentle slopes rich in limestone and chalk in a temperate climate with cool summer nights, cold winters and light southeast breezes - ideal conditions for slow ripening and the development of intense flavors. The grapes were harvested at night, processed without mash contact and with oxidized must. Fermentation took place exclusively with wild yeasts for 55 days, followed by 100% malolactic fermentation. The white wine then matured for 12 months on the lees in selected oak barrels. It was bottled unfiltered, unfined and unstabilized - a pure expression of its terroir. The bouquet combines intense aromas of butter, honey, tropical fruit, lime, Cointreau, oranges, caramel, toast and vanilla. On the palate, the Springfield Estate Méthode Ancienne Chardonnay shows power and elegance at the same time, with lively acidity, plenty of citrus notes and a pleasantly fresh, slightly smoky tone. Broad, seductive and balanced, it conveys a harmonious interplay of freshness and richness - almost like a classic Burgundy.Enjoy this Chardonnay with well-seasoned fish, pan-fried scallops, grilled chicken or a creamy vegetable risotto. Serve at 12-14 °C to allow its subtle nuances to develop to the full.

Hamilton Russell Pinot Noir
The low-vigour, stony, clay-rich soil, cool maritime mesoclimate, naturally tiny yields of under 30 hl/ha and the philosophy of expressing our terroir in the wines give rise to a certain tightness, tannin line and elevated length to balance the richness and generosity of this Pinot Noir. The Pinot Noir is not overtly fruity, soft and sweet and it generally shows hints of that alluring primal character along with a dark, spicy, complex primary fruit perfume.Suitable for vegans.
