Groot Constantia Grand Constance 0.375 l (half bottle)

Groot Constantia’s Grand Constance is one of South Africa’s most exceptional dessert wines. With this noble sweet specialty, the country’s oldest winery continues the rich tradition of the famous Constantia wines. The long aging period and meticulous production process give the wine its distinctive depth and elegance, making it a striking example of South African winemaking artistry.

The Muscat de Frontignan grapes remain on the vine for an exceptionally long time and dry naturally. This results in an impressive concentration of sugar, aromas, and extract. After fermentation, the wine ages for 24 months in used oak barrels and then for another two years in the bottle. This elaborate aging process gives Grand Constance its remarkable complexity and unmistakable character.

In the glass, this South African sweet wine displays a luminous amber hue. The bouquet is characterized by aromas of dried apricots and ripe peaches. On the palate, the Grand Constance is concentrated and multi-layered, with lively acidity providing freshness and a harmonious balance. The long finish underscores the elegance of this exceptional dessert wine.

As a food pairing, Groot Constantia Grand Constance harmonizes superbly with fruity desserts, crème brûlée, or full-flavored blue cheese. It also showcases its full class when paired with foie gras or enjoyed on its own as the finale to a special meal. Its optimal serving temperature is 10 to 12 °C.

Glenwood Grand Duc Noblesse 0.375 l (half bottle)
The Glenwood Grand Duc Noblesse from the Glenwood vineyard is an exceptional sweet wine made from 29-year-old vines that thrive on the well-drained soils of Clovelly and Avalon. Without artificial irrigation, the grapes slowly develop their full aroma. Before pressing, they undergo an additional selection process to guarantee the highest quality. Only the best, noble rotten berries are used. After pressing, the juice is filled into small, selected French oak barrels with a capacity of 225 liters, where it is fermented and fermentation is stopped naturally at 130 g of residual sugar per liter. The result is a harmonious sweet wine with a golden yellow color and seductive notes of nuts, honey and citrus fruits, with subtle similarities to the famous Sauternes. On the palate, it is lively, sweet and elegant with aromas of passion fruit and lychee.Serve the Glenwood Grand Duc Noblesse slightly chilled at 8-10 °C with duck liver parfait, dark chocolate fondant or mature blue cheese. Drink now or after 10-15 years for added complexity.

Boplaas Red Muscadel
The Boplaas Red Muscadel comes from the traditional Boplaas wine estate, which has been closely associated with the production of high-quality Muscat wines since the mid-19th century. This grape variety, Muscat de Frontignan, forms the historical basis of the South African Muscat tradition and is at the heart of Boplaas wine production. Only in exceptional vintages are the grapes from low-yielding, selected vineyards harvested by hand and processed into this characterful Red Muscadel. The grapes are harvested in the early hours of the morning, pressed in traditional lagares and left on the skins for three days, with intensive manual pigeages. The natural fermentation is stopped by spraying, which releases the complex variety of aromas that characterize the Boplaas Red Muscadel. In the glass, it is a bright crimson red and captivates with aromas of cranberry, mulberry, fresh strawberry jam, jasmine, rooibos and the typical nutmeg spice. It is full-bodied on the palate, with lively acidity and a harmonious, refreshing finish.Enjoy the Boplaas Red Muscadel slightly chilled at 10-12 °C with duck or pork dishes, traditional Cape Malay or Cantonese cuisine, with spicy desserts or on its own as an elegant aperitif.
