Boplaas The Chocolate Cape Vintage combines tradition, craftsmanship and pure enjoyment in a unique Cape Fortified wine. Made from hand-picked old vines of the Tinta Barocca and Touriga Nacional varieties (± 30 years), the grapes are fermented in small lagares, macerated at the perfect time and then aged for 12 months in large, mature oak barrels before the wine is lightly filtered and bottled.

In the glass, it shines purple-black with a garnet-red rim, while the nose and palate are pampered by aromas of ripe plums, apricots, peaches, blackberries, fine spices, licorice and rich chocolate. Elegantly integrated tannins and vibrant spicy notes give this Cape Vintage Port versatility and enjoyment, suitable for special occasions as well as everyday indulgence.

Enjoy slightly chilled at 14-16 °C - perfect with chocolate desserts, mature cheeses, game dishes or mildly spiced Indian and Cape Malay dishes. Boplaas The Chocolate Cape Vintage is also a sensual delight as an aperitif, digestif or "on the rocks".

The dry wine from South Africa is made from Pinotage grapes.The wine has a light pink color due to the very brief contact of the juice with the skin of the berries.
