Die Weinregion heißt Ceres und die Trauben für den Op Die Berg Chardonnay stammen vom Witzenberg, der auf einer Höhe von 960 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel liegt. Die Region hat ein kontinentales Klima mit kühlen Nachttemperaturen und heißeren Tagestemperaturen während der Vegetationsperiode, das zu einer langsameren Reifung und mehr konzentrierter Frucht beiträgt.

Der De Grendel Op Die Berg Chardonnay hat eine zitronenblasse Farbe mit klarer heller Durchsicht. In der Nase finden sich exotische Fruchtnoten, Gewürzaromen und eine leichte Vanillenote aus der 5-monatigen Reifung in französischen Barriquefässern. Am Gaumen wunderbar elegant und dezent, aber kraftvoll. Der Geschmack wird geprägt von konzentrierten Aromen von Kokosnuss, Ingwer und Marmelade von leichter Süße. Ein Weißwein von jugendlicher Frische, der im Laufe der Jahre an Reichtum und Intensität gewinnen wird.

Am Gaumen zeigen sich Aromen von roten Früchten und Gewürzen. Der De Grendel Shiraz ist ein zarter, aber konzentrierter Rotwein von hervorragender Struktur. Im Abgang üppig und saftig.Der Shiraz von De Grendel eignet sich großartig als Solowein, kann aber auch mit Gerichten wie Lammrücken oder gegrilltem Beef Burger mit Cheddar Käse kombiniert werden.
