The Aaldering Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot has an initially intense bouquet offering notes of ripe blackberries and cassis. The wonderfully fruity bouquet is harmoniously complemented and rounded off by fine nuances of eucalyptus, cedar and cigar box. This blend, consisting mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% of Merlot, is elegant and powerful on the palate, with velvety, well-structured tannins.This is a high-quality wine from the Devon Valley in the Stellenbosch region. The grape varieties were aged separately and matured for 25 months in French barriques, of which 35% were new barrels. This blend has a good ageing potential of 10 to 15 years.You’ll enjoy discovering the Aaldering Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot with lamb, grilled vegetables and spicy dishes with green pepper or Mediterranean herbs. Since 2004, Marianne and Fons Aaldering, the owners of the winery, have been writing a remarkable success story, meticulously establishing a winery that has won numerous international awards.
