The grapes for Paolo Manzone Langhe Rosso Luvi come from several vineyards in the Langhe region of Piedmont in northern Italy (between the upper Po Valley near Turin and the Ligurian Alps). The Italian red wine is a blend of the typical Piedmontese grape varieties Barbera, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo. The 90 points awarded by Luca Maroni are testament to the success of this blend.
Fruity notes of cherries, blackberries and plums characterize the bouquet of Paolo Manzone Langhe Rosso Luvi. There are also notes of cedar, violet and laurel as well as nuances of chocolate and coffee, creating an engaging, multi-faceted bouquet.
On the palate, this red wine from Piedmont is dry and full-bodied, with round, pleasantly soft, noticeable tannins and present aromas of dark red fruit (especially plums and cherries). The finish is pleasantly fruity.
The Barbara, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo grapes come from vines that are on average 20 years old. Part of the wine matured in tonneaux (large 350-liter oak barrels) and part in stainless steel.
Enjoy the Paolo Manzone Langhe Rosso Luvi at a drinking temperature of 14 to 16 degrees. It is a perfect accompaniment to a beef goulash, but also to hearty stuffed peppers or roast veal liver with onions, apples, pears and mashed potatoes.
