Galante Sangiovese Appassimento DOC

The Galante Sangiovese Appassimento is a high-quality red wine from Emilia-Romagna, the region in northern Italy. The pure Sangiovese was produced using the traditional "Appassimento method". After the harvest, the grapes dry in small boxes before being processed further. The aromas and the sugar become more concentrated, giving the wines an unmistakable aromatic depth.

Even the bouquet of the Galante Sangiovese Appassimento is impressive. The Italian red wine smells of red cherries, wild berries, dried plums, chocolate and coffee as well as hints of violets. On the palate, the deep ruby red wine is creamy and velvety, with round, wonderfully integrated tannins as well as intense fruitiness and a pleasant sweetness. The finale lingers on for a long time.

Enjoy the creation of the Terre Cevico cooperative, which is more than 50 years old, at a drinking temperature of 16 to 18 degrees. The Galante Sangiovese Appassimento is an ideal accompaniment to a traditional goulash dish, but is also a good choice for a salami pizza or a spicy, mature hard cheese.

Mea Culpa Vino Rosso
‘Mea Culpa’ means ‘my fault’. Mario Minini from the Cantine Minini estate used this expression ironically to name his outstanding red wine. In his opinion, he created the best cuvée that can be made using the Appassimento method. The Mea Culpa Vino Rosso in an extraordinary wine in all respects. The Primitivo, Shiraz and Merlot grapes for the Appassimento cuvée come from two very different wine-growing regions in Italy. The Primitivo grapes come from Apulia, of course, while the Shiraz and Merlot grapes come from Sicily, wonderfully uniting to create this excellent blend. The responsible wine-maker Mario Minini and his team of oenologists worked on the optimal composition of this blend for a long time. The result is a medium-dry red wine, offering an abundance of aromas on the nose.Fine notes of chocolate, nuances of tobacco and strong fruit aromas of blackberries, strawberries and dark cherries unite with notes of mocha and vanilla. On the palate, the wine shows a vivid acidity and a fine tannin structure. The full but elegant body has an exquisite structure. Due to the ageing in 225-litre oak casks made of French oak, the Mea Culpa Vino Rosso offers notes of vanilla and tobacco in its finish. It is an ideal accompaniment to meals. It goes beautifully with gnocchi or homemade spaetzle with beef roulade and cabbage vegetables.Enjoy this Primitivo from Sicily at a drinking temperature of 16-18 °C (46.4-50.0 °F).

Collefrisio Appassimento Rosso

This impressive wine from Piedmont offers intense aromas of cherries, ripe dark fruit and dried fruit on the nose. On the palate, this complex wine is powerful, with great density and noticeable but soft and beautifully integrated tannins. In the traditional Appassimento method, the grapes ripen beyond the full ripening date and dry on the vine. They shrink almost to a raisin and thus gain aromas, sugar and acidity. This results in exceptional wines with fine aromas reminiscent of raisins and a finish that lingers for a long time. Discover the Serre dei Roveri Appassimento Piemonte Barbera DOC with hearty game dishes, roasts or long matured cheese variations, for example.
