Beautiful Apulia. Sun, sea, culture, and, of course, wine. In terms of volume, Apulia is Italy’s largest wine-growing region. “An excellent place to establish a winery,” thought Grandfather Angelo back in the 1950s. And he was right. Today, the Paradiso winery is one of the best-known in the region. It goes without saying that a red wine made from the region’s typical indigenous grape variety, Nero di Troia, is a must in Paradiso’s lineup—and so the Posta Piana Nero di Troia IGP Puglia was born.
The fully ripe grapes are harvested in the second week of October. After destemming, a portion of the fruit undergoes maceration at a controlled temperature of 25–28°C. The remaining portion is macerated at lower temperatures, which enhances the fruity notes. The berries are then pressed, and the must is subsequently divided. One portion ages for one year in barriques, while the other ages in stainless steel tanks. This process achieves an optimal balance between fruit and spice. After bottling, the dry red wine ages for two more months before being released to the market.
The Paradiso Posta Piana Nero di Troia IGP Puglia is ruby red. On the nose, it offers an intense and complex bouquet with a blend of fresh fruits—such as strawberry, cherry, and myrtle—complemented by spicy aromas of rosemary, sage, and vanilla. On the palate, it is smooth, intense, and persistent.
The ideal serving temperature for this red wine is 16–18°C. At this temperature, the Posta Piana is a wonderful accompaniment to aged cheeses and roasted meats.
