Doppio Passo Primitivo Puglia IGT

Previous vintages of this Primitivo from Apulia have won numerous awards. The wine unites notes of sweet berries (blackberries, wild berries and cherries) and intense nuances of dried fruit in its bouquet. On the palate, the popular red wine from South Italy is wonderfully aromatic, velvety and full-bodied, with finely integrated tannins, showing a great density.

The impressive, deep aromas and the full body of the Doppio Passo Primitivo are based on a traditional production process, which is similar to the Ripasso di Valpolicella method. After the first fermentation, the wine is added to the grape skins once again for a second fermentation. During this second step of the ‘double process’ (doppio passo), the wine extracts colour, aromas and a fine hint of sweetness from the skins once more. Enjoy this red wine made from hand-picked, ripe Primitivo grapes from Salento in Apulia with tangy cheeses, pasta, or game.
