Ein Hochkaräter aus den Ausläufern der Anden: Der Carmen Winemaker’s Cabernet Sauvignon Blend ist eine herausragende Kreation aus Cabernet Sauvignon (mehr als die Hälfte), Chiles Ausnahme-Rebsorte Carménère, sowie kleineren Anteilen Merlot, Syrah (Shiraz) und Petite Syrah. Das Bukett dieses trockenen Rotweins ist faszinierend vielschichtig. Es vereint Noten von schwarzen Johannisbeeren, Brombeeren, Pflaumen und Schwarzkirschen sowie von Blaubeeren.

Die Trauben für diesen Blend der vielfach international ausgezeichneten Viña Carmen stammen von Lagen aus den Ausläufern der Anden im Maipo Valley. Das Weingut hat eine Geschichte, die bis 1850 zurückreicht und besitzt damit eine Expertise im chilenischen Weinbau, die die Basis dafür ist, Jahr für Jahr herausragende Weine anbieten zu können. Der Carmen Winemaker´s Cabernet Sauvignon Blend mit seiner intensiven Fruchtigkeit und Kraft ist dafür ein wunderbares Beispiel. 10 Monate wurde diese Cuvée in französischen und amerikanischen Eichenfässern ausgebaut.

Die ideale Trinktemperatur für diesen Rotwein liegt bei 16-18 Grad. Öffnen Sie die Flasche mindestens eine Stunde vor dem Genuss und genießen Sie diesen Blend zu gebratenem oder gegrilltem dunklem Fleisch, Wildgeflügel, Blauschimmelkäse oder auch zu Schokoladendesserts.

This single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon from the Maipo Alto Valley offers a multi-faceted bouquet. The Carmen Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvingon smells of ripe berries such as black cherries and blackcurrants, a sweetish spice (mint, paprika and pepper) and tobacco. On the palate, this red wine from Chile is full-bodied, with a smooth texture and sweet, concentrated and velvety tannins. This Reserva has a great length.The Carmen Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvingon was matured for 14 months in French oak barrels. The dry red wine is already a wonderful taste experience, but can also be stored for another 6 to 7 years.Viña Carmen was founded in 1850, making it one of the oldest wineries in Chile. The winery was also a driving force behind the renaissance of the Carmenere grape variety in the mid-1990s. The old Bordeaux grape variety had almost completely disappeared in France due to the phylloxera plague. However, it found its way to Chile at the time. There it remained undiscovered for decades, as Carmenere and Merlot vines are very similar. For many years, there was the "Chilean Merlot", which was particularly spicy with notes of green pepper. It was not until 1994 that it was discovered that the cause of these particular notes was a "stowaway", so to speak, in the growing regions: the Carmenere grape variety.Over the decades, Viña Carmen's outstanding locations in Chile and extensive experience in viticulture have earned it many international awards, both for the winery as a whole and for many individual creations. The Carmen Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvingon, for example, received a proud 92 points from James Suckling for the current vintage and the Platinum Medal with 97 points at the Decanter World Wine Awards.Enjoy the Carmen Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvingon with rabbit or duck as well as a more intense cheese such as parmesan or cheddar. Dieser reinsortige Carménère aus dem Colchagua-Tal duftet intensiv fruchtig und würzig. Noten von Schwarzkirschen prägen das Bukett, dazu schöne Töne von Lorbeer, Gewürznelken, dunkler Schokolade sowie von Oliven und auch Tabak. Auch merkliche Nuancen von Pfeffer und Paprika, typisch für chilenischen Carménère. Am Gaumen ist der Carmen Gran Reserva Carménère angenehm strukturiert und konzentriert, mit weichen und samtigen Tanninen. Der tief rubinrot schimmernde Wein reifte für 14 Monate in französischen Eichenfässern heran. Sein Alterungspotenzial liegt bei 6 bis 7 Jahren. Der bekannte US-Weinkritiker James Suckling urteilte: „Wirklich wunderschöne Aromen von Brombeeren und Blumen mit schwarzem Lakritz und Pilzen, gefolgt von einem vollen Körper.“ Zugleich sei der Rotwein „dicht und präzise mit einer feinen Tannin-Textur und einem langen, würzigen Abgang“.Probieren Sie den Carmen Gran Reserva Carménère zu würzigen Pasta-Variationen, Fasan oder Ente. MONTES ALPHA"M" is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. A powerful wine with very good level of soft and rounded tannins. Intense dark red colour. The wine is elegant and has a very well defined character. The 5% of Petit Verdot is adding an extra element of complexity. There is an pleasant and harmonious marriage of fruit and the French oak. The structure of this wine will keep it for at least 20 years. On the palate, it is perfectly balanced, full-bodied and superbly voluptuous on the mid-palate with a rewarding, lingering after taste of mature grapes and acidity that reflects its superb structure.MONTES ALPHA "M" can be enjoyed now or cellared for several years (it will continue to improve in the bottle for at least 20 years).

The Wine Spectator likewise awarded a terrific 97 points, focusing in its review on the notes of cherries and violets, as well as hints of minerals and tobacco in the bouquet.  Ninety-six points from James Suckling (cherries, orange peel and sandalwood) and from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (dark fruit, cherry, leather, spices and tar) complete the series of top ratings for the Poggio Antico Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2016.On the palate, the Brunello is fresh, juicy and powerful. The tannins are integrated in a fascinating harmony. Connoisseurs can also look forward to the fine minerality and noticeable, lovely structure of this Tuscan Sangiovese.The Poggio Antico Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2016 was aged for 30 months in French and Slavonian oak, and subsequently for a further 30 months in the bottle. In short, it is an exceptional wine that has yet to reveal its full potential. Our tip: Wait until 2025 to enjoy this premium red wine. This Brunello will remain a source of joy until the early 2040s. The Decanter describes it as “gorgeously sexy and seductive”.

With regard to the production process and the type of wine, the Penfolds Father Grand Tawny is similar to a port wine, though it is not allowed to bear the protected term ‘port’. However, this does not diminish the wine’s quality and characteristics - on the contrary, Penfolds, Australia’s most famous winery, has produced a genuine delight. The different base wines are at least 10 years old. Wines of an average of 15 different vintages unite to create the Penfolds Father Grand Tawny, thus ensuring that the nuances of each vintage produce a concentrated Tawny. The base wine is traditionally enriched with specially distilled alcohol containing between 78 and 85 of alcohol by volume, simultaneously increasing both the Tawny’s alcohol content and its complexity. In the glass, the Father Grand Tawny is a light brown of medium intensity with hints of yellow and green at the rim. On the nose, it offers wonderful notes of oak, chocolate, plums and roasted nuts, complemented by nuances of cloves and anise. On the palate, the Tawny shows its full power and elegance, offering sweet notes of fruitcake and concentrated wood aromas. Its finish is wonderfully balanced, fresh and long-lasting.The Penfolds Father Grand Tawny 10 Years is lovely on its own as an aperitif and goes beautifully with sweet desserts.
