The Trapiche Terroir Series Chardonnay Finca El Tomillo comes from the renowned Valle de Uco in Mendoza, one of the best wine regions in Argentina.Top wines are produced at extreme altitudes in Argentina's Valle de Uco. The Trapiche winery, which has not been deterred by the altitude, was founded back in 1883. Today, the estate owns around 1000 hectares of vineyards. Trapiche works with more than 300 winegrowers from the surrounding area to offer wine from the best terroirs in the Mendoza region. This includes the Trapiche Terroir Series Chardonnay Finca El Tomillo. The El Tomillo vineyard is located in Gualtallary in Uco Valley at an altitude of 1350 meters. The soil is sandy with a high calcium carbonate content and lots of pebbles.After the hand harvest, the grapes are selected, destemmed and selected again. The grape juice produced during the subsequent pressing at 10°C begins to ferment. First at a controlled temperature of 10°C, then at 15°C. Wild yeasts are used for the fermentation, which takes place in 30 hl concrete vats. To make the dry white wine creamier and preserve its freshness, only part of it undergoes malolactic fermentation. The Trapiche Single Vineyard Chardonnay Finca El Tomillo then matures for a further 9 months in large French oak barrels (30 hl) and in concrete barrels (10 hl).This individual and expressive Chardonnay has a light, golden yellow color. Aromas of lemon, pear and flint play around the nose. A refreshing, elegant, mineral white wine with fine acidity and pronounced spicy notes surprises you on the palate.
