Montes Alpha Syrah 2022

The Montes Alpha Syrah from the Vina Montes winery comes from Chile, from the Colchagua Valley region to be precise. This wine is particularly balanced and smooth.The dry red wine presents itself in an elegant red color with black-purple reflections. On the nose, the Syrah smells of black cherries, ripe plums and red fruits such as strawberries. Slightly smoky, sweet tobacco notes suggest elegance. On the palate, the Chilean red wine is very velvety, peppered with fine spicy notes. Due to its ageing in French oak barrels, notes of toast and crème brûlée are also present. The Montes Alpha Syrah consists largely of the Syrah grape variety and a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon and Viognier.Enjoy this wine with red meat, spaghetti bolognese or duck in a delicious sauce at a recommended drinking temperature of 17-19 °C.We also recommend decanting this wine approx. 30 minutes before drinking.

Montes Folly 2020

Montes Folly - the famous single-varietal Shiraz (Syrah) from Viña Montes - is also an outstanding example of Chilean winemaking in the 2020 vintage. The wine has a deep, ruby red color. On the nose, the wine is intense and elegant at the same time. Notes of blackcurrants, blueberries and toast aromas come into their own. There are also nuances of chocolate.On the palate, the Shiraz offers exceptional complexity and structure. Aromas of blackberry, boysenberry, mocha, espresso and fine spice are wonderfully underpinned by velvety, powerful tannins. Purple Angel is a selection of our best Carmenère selected from our two Estates (50% sourced from Apalta, were its sunny vineyards give elegance to the wine and 50% from our Marchigue Estate, a coastal cool weather vineyard that produces low yields naturally and provides strength, concentration and a deep, intense carmine color to it. A fantastic wine that blends both elegance and powerPurple Angel showcases the spicy touches typical of Carmenère, with ripe, gentle and soft tannins, it’s a full bodied, concentrated wine that combines red berries and dark chocolate on the mouth with alluring cigar box, blackberries and plums aromas on the noseThe wine is blended with a touch of Petit Verdot to enhance its structure, color and cellaring potential. A mouth filling wine with a very long finish, definitely a unique Carmenère!Denomination of Origin: Purple Angel is a blend of 92% Carmenère and 8% Petit Verdot from the Colchagua Valley. Winemaking: Grapes are carefully hand picked. The clusters go through a grape by grape selection made by hand with a team of 14 people, in which only good fruit is allowed into the tank. During the 18 months of barrel aging in new French oak barrels, the wine is racked 3 times to get rid of lees, and allow some oxygen to interfere in the evolution and maturation of this wine.When the final blend is made, if the wine is totally clear, and has no microbiological pressure, there is no need for filtration or fining….so the wine goes unfiltered to the bottling process.Decant for at least an hour for better enjoyment, allowing the wine to open up.

The Montes Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is an expressive red wine from the Chilean Valle de Colchagua, one of the most renowned wine regions in South America.This Chilean red wine is characterized by a dense ruby red color with dark reflections. The intense aroma of fruits such as cassis and wild strawberries is accompanied by black cherries and a hint of chocolate: dark berries on the surface, delicately underlined by a hint of oak, supported by the solid and ripe tannins of this dry red wine. The Cabernet provides the power (85%), the Merlot the fruitiness (15%). Gentle and refined on the finish.The Montes Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is an excellent accompaniment to all spicy, aromatic meat dishes.
