The Badia a Passignano Gran Selezione is an impressive, classic Chianti, uniting aromas of ripe fruits, balsamic notes and fine hints of oak in its bouquet. This wine is fresh and full on the palate, with supple and wonderfully integrated tannins.

This invigorating and expressive Sangiovese matured for 14 months in Hungarian and French oak casks whereby the grapes of individual parcels of land were vinified separately. Afterwards, the Antinori - Badia a Passignano Gran Selezione aged for another 12 months in the bottle.

The abbey of Badia a Passignano gave this excellent wine from Tuscany its name. The Antinori family acquired the lands of the abbey in 1987. The monastery is situated in the lonely Chianti landscape. This Sangiovese is an ideal accompaniment to pasta with tomato sauce, light stews, herbs and olives.

Le Serre Nuove is a remarkable blend of  Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The grapes are very concentrated, with a perfect balance between ripe tannins, fresh acidity and intense, ripe flavors.Wine lovers can expect a concentrated, fine and soft red wine of great aromatic intensity. Scents of ripe red fruits are accompanied by tobacco leaf notes and spices. On the palate impress the great maturity and quality of soft, dense and smooth tannins.Each grape variety and each vineyard parcel was vinified separately. The wine was aged around 15 months in barriques. After the first 12 months, the wines were merged to mature for a further 3 months in barriques. A six-month aging in the bottle stood at the end of the process. Le Serre Nuove offers a remarkable aging potential, but is also already a pleasure.The winery "Tenuta dell'Ornellaia" was founded in 1981 by Marchese Lodovico Antinori – with the support of the legendary winemaker André Tchelistcheff. In the wine-world Tenuta dell'Ornellaia – situated in the Province of Livorno in Tuscany – fastly achieved an outstanding, almost legendary reputation, thanks to its exquisite creations.

Production area: Selected vineyards of Neviera and Casa Rossa, located in San Marzano district. The soil is mainly “terra rossa”, with a fine texture and generally a calcareous undergound with a few emerging rocks. The well-known redness of these soils is due to the presence of iron oxides. The climate is characterised by high temperatures all year round, very few rainfalls and a wide difference of temperature between night and day, which has a nice influence on the quality of grapes. This is the “classical” central area of d.o.c. ”Primitivo di Manduria” Harvest period: Third decade of August, first decade of September Vinification: Hand-harvested in small baskets. Maceration: 18 days with selected autochtonous yeasts. Die verwendeten Reben des Testamatta sind in der Regel 80 Jahre und älter und stammen von den besten Lagen in der Toskana. Das macht den individuellen Charakter oder Einzigartigkeit dieses Weins aus. Der Wein duftet herrlich nach Kirchen, Schokolade und dunklen Beeren. Die besondere Feinheit des Duftes ist besonders. Am Gaumen zeigt sich der Testamatta zunächst etwas wild um dann mit großer Intensität zu überzeugen. Die Vielfalt der Aromen unterstreicht die Klasse des Weins, welcher dunkle Früchte, geröstete Gewürze, Teer und Lakritze freigibt. Der Testamatta ist elegant, von mittelschwerer Struktur und seine geschliffenen Tannine machen ihn wunderbar rund. Der Wein zeigt ein langes großartiges Finale mit würzigen Noten.Der Ausbau erfolgte für 30 Monate in französischen Barriques und für weitere 6 Monate lagerte der Wein in der Flasche. Das gibt dem Testamatta einerseits ein langes Lagerpotential, lässt ihn aber sicher auch in der Flasche noch an Ausdruck gewinnen.
