This second wine from the renowned Château Couhins comes from Pessac-Léognan, a prime part of the Graves region south of Bordeaux. The winery combines traditional elegance with research into sustainable precision viticulture by the INRA, the French Institute for Agricultural Research.

The 2019 blend consists of 68% Merlot and 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, which is classic for this appellation. The wine was aged for 12 months, partly in steel tanks and partly in French oak barrels.

A deep ruby red in the glass. The nose captivates with refined aromas of cedar wood and dark and red berries - especially raspberry and cedar - harmoniously integrated into a fine woody note. On the palate, Château Couhins La Gravette 2019 is round, soft, with supple tannins and an elegant, well-defined structure, with some residual sweetness. Dark fruits - cherry, plum - combine with subtle spice and mineral depth, resulting in a wonderful harmony. The finish is extremely long.
An extremely versatile companion for the table: the wine goes excellently with grilled or braised lamb, game and poultry dishes such as duck or guinea fowl, as well as spicy farmhouse charcuterie, mushroom risotto and mature hard cheeses.

Château Couhins La Gravette 2019 combines classic Bordeaux elegance with modern finesse: a multi-layered second wine with supple fruitiness, fine tannins and a remarkably complex finish. Its high rating and longevity into the early 2030s make it the ideal choice for connoisseurs and collectors.

Château Martinet, gelegen in der renommierten Appellation Saint Émilion, ist ein Geheimtipp unter der Weinen des rechten Ufers der Gironde. Selten bekommt man so viel klassischen Saint Èmilion für einen solchen Preis in sein Glas.Die Cuvée besteht, typisch für die Region, aus überwiegend Merlot und etwa 1/3 Cabernet Franc, die Reben sind rund 40 Jahre alt.Der Wein ist kraftvoll und zeigt seidige Tannine. Aufgrund seines jungen Alters empfehlen wir eine ausgiebige Belüftung vor dem Genuss.Er offenbart schöne Noten von schwarzen Beeren, am Gaumen ebenfalls viel Frucht, Kirsche, gecrushte Erdbeeren und leichte Anflüge von Mandeln. James Suckling vergibt 92/100 Punkte.Eine traumhafte Kombination mit Wild, Geflügel, Lamm und cremigen, mittelwürzigen Käsesorten.

Bereits 1793 kaufte der Bordelaiser Weinhändler Jean Delbos das Rebland auf außerordentlich gutem Terroir, gelegen zwischen so renommierten Châteaux wie Gruaud-Larose und Beychevelle. Der trockene Rotwein wird vom Cabernet Sauvignon dominiert, mit etwa 1/3 Anteil Merlot und etwas Petit Verdot.Ein ganz klassischer und typischer Haut-Médoc Bordeaux, der durchaus etwas Lagerung verträgt und bis zum Jahre 2030 immer noch weiter zulegen wird. Paz Espejo, die im Jahre 2009 als Managerin das Gut übernommen hat, hat mit dem 2016er Jahrgang eine kleine Wein-Ikone geschaffen, die dem traditionellen Bild Bordeauxs huldigt. Gute Frucht, mittlerer Körper, durchaus präsente Tannine, viel rote Beeren, Kirsche, Cassis und eine wahre Fundgrube von Waldnoten bestimmen den Charakter des Château Lanessan Haut-Médoc, der dem Jahrgang entsprechend eine Hohe Qualität bietet. Der Abgang ist beeindruckend lang. Dieser noch sehr junge Wein aus Frankreich profitiert von einer Dekantierung von 1-2 Stunden und passt hervorragend zu Lamm, Steak, Hack- oder Schmorbraten.

Château Fontesteau 2020 is a remarkable red wine from the prestigious Haut-Médoc appellation in Bordeaux. The historic Château Fontesteau, which dates back to the 13th century, is surrounded by a rich ecosystem, including a forest of centuries-old oaks and a picturesque pond. During the reclassification in the Médoc, Château Fontesteau was promoted to the "Cru Bourgeois Supérieur" category, with only 14 of a total of 249 Cru Bourgeois represented in this higher category. The grapes for this red wine grow on the 35 hectares of vineyards on the 100-hectare estate on gravelly soils, which allow optimal drainage and ensure slow, even ripening of the grapes. The cuvée is made up of the typical Bordeaux grape varieties, primarily Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.After the harvest, vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks in order to preserve the fruitiness and elegance of the wine. The wine is then matured in French oak barrels, which gives it additional depth and a fine spiciness. In the glass, Château Fontesteau is a deep ruby red with violet reflections. The bouquet exudes intense aromas of blackcurrants, dark cherries and fine roasted aromas, complemented by nuances of cedar wood and graphite. On the palate, the wine impresses with a successful balance of powerful tannins, juicy fruit and well-integrated acidity. The fine spice from the wood maturation rounds off the taste and leads to a long-lasting, elegant finish.This classic Bordeaux is an excellent accompaniment to grilled beef, rack of lamb or braised duck. It is also an excellent choice with mature hard cheese or a traditional French cheese platter.Château Fontesteau should be served at 16 to 18 °C and ideally decanted before drinking to allow the aromas to develop to their full potential.A classic Haut-Médoc with structure, depth and elegance - perfect for Bordeaux lovers and festive occasions.

Der Fleur de Pédesclaux, übersetzt die Blume von Pédesclaux , ist der Zweitwein vom Cru Classé Pedesclaux aus der weltberühmten Appellation Pauillac am linken Ufer der Gironde, im Médoc. Er ähnelt dem Grand Vin sehr, mit seiner wunderbaren Frucht und der warmen und sehr seidigen Textur. Hier ist allerdings der Merlot Anteil höher (67% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon und 6% Petit Verdot), was ihn etwas geschmeidiger und zugänglicher macht. Das Jahr 2019 brachte außerordentlich gute Ergebnisse in Bordeaux hervor, so dass sich der Fleur de Pédesclaux mehr auf Augenhöhe mit seinem großen Bruder befindet als in nicht so guten Jahrgängen.Wir lieben sein reiches und duftendes Merlot-Bukett und seine roten und schwarzen Früchte, die eleganten und geschliffenen Tannine und den langen Nachhall. Kein Wunder, dass dieser Wein viel mehr ist als es der profane Begriff "Zweitwein" vermuten lässt. Star-Önologe Eric Boissenot hat hier beratend seine Finger im Spiel, Managing Dircetor Emmanuel Cruse bringt das Wein-Know-How von Château d´Issan mit und Jackie Lorenzetti, Eigentümer von Château Pédesclaux, hat keine Mühen und vor allem Millionen gescheut, Pédesclaux eine unglaubliche Dynamik in der Entwicklung zu spendieren.Der Fleur wird handgelesen, im Keller wird der Most und der Wein alleine durch Gravitation bewegt. Die Reifung erfolgt für 12 Monate in 30% neuen Fässern. Ein frischer, sehr hochwertig und rein vinifizierter Pauillac, der schon jung viel Freude bereitet und gegenwärtig trinkreif ist, allerdings durchaus auch das Potential zur Lagerung von einigen Jahren bietet.
