Bereits 1793 kaufte der Bordelaiser Weinhändler Jean Delbos das Rebland auf außerordentlich gutem Terroir, gelegen zwischen so renommierten Châteaux wie Gruaud-Larose und Beychevelle. Der trockene Rotwein wird vom Cabernet Sauvignon dominiert, mit etwa 1/3 Anteil Merlot und etwas Petit Verdot.

Ein ganz klassischer und typischer Haut-Médoc Bordeaux, der durchaus etwas Lagerung verträgt und bis zum Jahre 2030 immer noch weiter zulegen wird. Paz Espejo, die im Jahre 2009 als Managerin das Gut übernommen hat, hat mit dem 2016er Jahrgang eine kleine Wein-Ikone geschaffen, die dem traditionellen Bild Bordeauxs huldigt. Gute Frucht, mittlerer Körper, durchaus präsente Tannine, viel rote Beeren, Kirsche, Cassis und eine wahre Fundgrube von Waldnoten bestimmen den Charakter des Château Lanessan Haut-Médoc, der dem Jahrgang entsprechend eine Hohe Qualität bietet. Der Abgang ist beeindruckend lang. Dieser noch sehr junge Wein aus Frankreich profitiert von einer Dekantierung von 1-2 Stunden und passt hervorragend zu Lamm, Steak, Hack- oder Schmorbraten.

Lanessan, Cru Bourgeois aus dem Haut-Médoc, ist ein klassischer Bordeaux-Schatz zum unschlagbaren Preis. Seine Geschichte geht zurück bis in das Jahr 1310. Heute wird es von Paz Espejo gemanagt, der man bescheinigen muss, alles richtig zu machen.

Lanessan ist lediglich deswegen nicht im Rahmen der Klassifikation von 1855 erfasst, da man seinerzeit den Wein dort nicht anmeldete aus Überzeugung, dass dieses überflüssig und nicht von Bedeutung sei. Dies ist heute der Vorteil der Konsumenten, denn bekanntlich trägt das Siegel der Klassifizierung von 1855 immer noch erheblich zum Ruf und Preis der Rebsäfte aus Bordeaux bei.

Gelegen in Cussac-Fort-Médoc, direkt am Rand der Appellation Saint Julien, bietet das Kies-Terroir von Lanessan alle Voraussetzungen zur Produktion eines typischen Bordeaux. Die Reben sind im Schnitt 30 Jahre alt, vorherrschend ist Cabernet Sauvignon, gefolgt von Merlot und zur Abrundung folgt ein kleiner Anteil Cabernet Franc und Petit Verdot.

Die Weine von Lanessan sind aufgrund ihrer Haut-Médoc Typizität durchaus lagerfähig, erfreuen aber auch durch gesunde Frucht und eine schöne Säure-Balance. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis von Lanessan könnte nicht besser sein. Lanessan ist trotz des günstigen Preises großes Bordeaux-Kino!

Ohne Zweifel wird man feststellen müssen, dass das Château Siaurac einer der Stars der Appellation Lalande de Pomerol ist, gelegen in direkter Nachbarschaft zur bekannten Appellation Pomerol. Seit 1832 im Besitz der Familie Guichard ist dieses wunderschöne Anwesen nicht nur eine bauliche Ikone, sondern auch die Weine sind ständig im Aufwind, und das bei noch sehr moderater Preisgestaltung.Der Plaisir de Siaurac ist der Zweitwein des Châteaus in Frankreich, das seit dem Jahr 2016 ausschließlich biologische und biodynamische Anbautechniken einsetzt. Der 2022er Plaisir de Siaurac ist für uns eine der Entdeckungen dieses wundervollen Jahrganges, der eine echte Alternative zu wesentlich teureren Pomerols darstellt. Er setzt sich zusammen aus 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc und 5% Malbec. Die Betonung liegt dabei auf seiner schönen Frucht, verbunden mit sehr feinen und geschliffenen Tanninen. Dies liegt auch an den idealen Wetterbedingungen, bei dem die warmen Tage und kühlen Nächte dazu beitrugen, dass die Tannine samtig ausfielen und den Rotwein balancieren, aber nicht dominieren.Mit wie viel Liebe zum Detail der Plaisir de Siaurac 2022 bereitet wurde, zeigt sich auch daran, dass im Juni ein individueller Laubrückschnitt je nach Bedarf der Parzellen vorgenommen wurde, um jeder Lage gerecht zu werden.Wir empfehlen, den 2022er Plaisir de Siaurac etwa 1 Stunde vor dem Genuss zu dekantieren. Er wird noch mindestens 5 Jahre seine Genussreife halten und überzeugt sowohl als fruchtiger Sommerbegleiter, als auch als food-pairing mit rotem Fleisch, Gegrilltem und einem guten Steak.

On 35 ha of prime Saint-Estèphe terroir, Domaines JM Cazes—which also owns Château Lynch-Bages—produces a wonderfully balanced Bordeaux. Nestled among illustrious neighbors such as Montrose, the two Ségurs, and Cos d’Estournel, this is a consistently excellent value wine that, in exceptional vintages like 2016, can soar to magnificent heights.The “elm trees of Pez,” which gave the château its name, may have been cut down long ago, but the wine’s quality endures.Its special charm also lies in the fact that, while the Ormes de Pez is a typical Saint-Estèphe wine—with solid tannic structure and enormous aging potential—it always comes across as very balanced and harmonious. This is due in no small part to its blend of 52% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot, with the high proportion of Merlot providing the wine’s smooth, flattering character. 45% new barriques were used for 16 months to refine the wine. The grapes were harvested by hand, and for only the second time, an optical sorting machine was used.This red wine is incredibly full-bodied, elegant, and full of finesse. The black-fruit-driven nose reveals notes of cherry, dark berries, cassis, and a hint of licorice. On the palate, there are also plenty of dark berries, very good, velvety tannins, followed by an exceptionally long finish.
