Product recommendation

Chateau Belgrave Haut Medoc Grand Cru Classe

This Saint-Émilion Grand Cru is a 100% Merlot with an exciting history. It is produced on a 9-hectare estate in Saint Etienne de Lisse, in the vicinity of such illustrious names as Valandraud, by Denis Durantou, who also owns the renowned Château L'Eglise Clinet. The Merlot ensures that the French wine is already extremely accessible, with the emphasis on its fruity and fresh notes. The Saintem appears in a deep garnet red. Lots of plum, chocolate, some cherry, smoke, lavender and floral hints. The wine is smooth, fruity and has a lovely sweetness that is not overwhelming. Maturation for 14 months in French oak barrels gives this dry red wine a great structure without overemphasizing the wood.An absolute Merlot best buyJames Suckling 92-93/100 pointsGalloni: 89-92/100 pointsRobert Parker: 89-91/100 points

Château Rozier Saint-Émilion Grand Cru AOP
Saint-Émilion, located on the right bank of Bordeaux, is still not only one of the best wine-growing regions in the Bordelais, but in the whole world. The reputation of the grape juices that come from there is no coincidence. The silkiness, freshness, fruit, volume and depth give these wines something unique. It is a good thing that these values are also represented by wines such as Château Rozier, which offer this at a reasonable price without putting too much strain on the wallet. The Rozier, which is vinified from Merlot and Cabernet Franc, was allowed to mature in peace. There was no time pressure during the harvest, which was done by hand. The wine was matured for around 15 months in oak barrels. The Rozier is characterized by a sparkling, deep red. Sweet plums, licorice, stewed fruit and some spices form a fine and seductive bouquet that is harmonious, soft and opulent. Typical of a genuine Saint-Émilion, the wine is also full-bodied and dense in texture. The finish is long and elegant.Château Rozier will keep for several years, but is already a pleasure to drink after at least an hour of decanting. An absolute recommendation as a solo wine, but also with game, beef, lamb or duck!

Château Chante Alouette Grand Cru Saint-Émilion AOC
Chante Alouette 2018 is a typical Bordeaux from the right bank of the Saint-Émilion appellation. The vineyards are located between such famous neighbors as Château Pavie and La Gaffeliére; the sand and clay soils, in addition to careful vinification, are responsible for producing particularly elegant and rich wines with a lot of charm.Château Chante Aloutte was taken over in 1995 by the Guy d'Arfeuille family, who combine the best of tradition and modernity while respecting and appreciating nature. The blend consists of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. It is matured in barriques with 30% new wood for one year. The 2018 Chante Alouette has a deep garnet-purple color. Blueberries, sweet cherries, licorice, baked plums, tobacco and violets on the nose. The palate is wonderfully elegant, opening up a world of dark fruits with chocolate. Lots of velvet and well-integrated tannins with an intense finish complete a very rounded picture of the exceptional 2018 vintage.A wonderful solo wine, drinkable now until around 2038, which also cuts an excellent figure with game, braised meat, grilled lamb or hard cheese.

Château Cantemerle Grand Cru Haut-Médoc AOC 2019
Château Cantemerle greets wine travelers on the D2, the most famous wine route in the world, like a kind of gatekeeper to the Médoc peninsula. Arriving from Bordeaux, Château La Lagune on the right and Château Cantemerle on the left send you on a trip to the wonderland of Bordeaux. The estate has been classified as a Cinquieme Grand Cru Classé since the 1855 classification, making it one of the "caste" of the truly best and most prestigious wines of the Bordelais.2019 was the second year in a series of three outstanding years in Bordeaux. Unsurprisingly, the Cantemerle 2019 is a shining testament to this fact, and not just in terms of its beautiful, deep red sparkling robe. The blend consists of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 7% Cabernet Franc. This Cantemerle matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, with 40% new barrels.Lots of blackberry, cassis, tobacco, freshly picked flowers, wood and wild mushrooms on the nose. The palate is not too full-bodied, with polished tannins and good structure. A rather softer representative of the left bank, but still a very classic Bordeaux. The finish is long and flattering.Château Cantemerle 2019 should be allowed to mature for at least three years before 2022 in order to maximize the drinking experience.James Suckling: 95/100Decanter: 92/100Robert Parker: 92/100
