The Protos Verdejo DO is made from 100% of the grape variety of the same name. The Rueda growing region in north-western Spain is the home of Verdejo, which is almost exclusively cultivated here. Verdejo is characterized by its freshness and aroma. Greenish-yellow in the glass, the nose reveals notes of apples and tropical fruit. The impressions intensify on the palate and you can taste passion fruit, peach, manjo and a hint of banana.

The wine is particularly convincing due to its complexity and complexity. Unusually round and fruity with a well-integrated acidity, it is a fun companion for many occasions. There are slightly bitter notes on the finish, but these pleasantly support the beautiful structure of Protos Verdejo.

Protos Verdejo can be paired with a variety of fish dishes. It goes well with crab and prawns as well as mussels, oysters or octopus. It is also an ideal accompaniment to asparagus or fresh garden vegetables.

The fruitiness of Protos Rosado is clearly in the foreground. Wonderful notes of strawberries, dried blackberries and sweet cherries can be detected on the nose and palate.As you would expect from a premium producer from the Ribera del Duero, the Rosado already demonstrates the full expertise of the Spanish winery. Made from the Tempranillo grape variety, the Rosado has undergone a 16-hour cold maceration to allow the aromas typical of the grape variety to fully develop. The color is intense pink and the taste is fresh and very fruity, beautifully balanced, but not boring. The fine combination of fruit and acidity gives the Portos Rosado enough power and volume to pamper the taste buds with plenty of body and balance.The Protos Rosado can be recommended without reservation with many sausage specialties, and is also an excellent choice with stews based on beans or lentils. This dry rosé wine is even an excellent accompaniment to grilled or roasted veal or lamb chops.

The Protos Reserva comes from vineyards in the Ribera del Duero that are over 50 years old. The grapes are harvested by hand. This magnificent Reserva is made from 100% grapes of the Tinta del Pais variety, commonly known as Tempranillo. After the grapes were subjected to further manual selection and pressed, fermentation began on the skins at a temperature of 28 degrees Celsius. The fermentation process lasted a total of 24 days. The wine then matured for 18 months, 2/3 in French and 1/3 in American oak barrels, before continuing its development for a further 24 months in the bottle.The color of the Protos Reserva is an intense dark red with almost black reflections towards the rim. On the nose, there are clear notes of black fruit, as well as toasted and spicy notes. Cinnamon, tobacco, cocoa, vanilla and wet gravel can also be perceived. Black pepper, rosemary and laurel reflect the spicy notes. Overall, the wine leaves a complex and elegant impression. On the palate, the Protos Reserva is incredibly intense and powerful. Fruitiness is complemented by roasted aromas and spicy notes. The well-integrated acidity and rounded tannins support the muscular structure, which guarantees the wine a long finish. Already a real pleasure today, the Protos Reserva will also prove its potential in later years.Braised venison, pheasant with grapes, braised wild boar, stuffed pigeon, partridge with chocolate, pigeon with nuts and roast venison are just a few of the possible dishes that Protos Reserva can be paired with. It also cuts a fine figure with mature cheese variations.

Mit dem Protos Roble beginnt die Linie der berühmten Protos Rotweine. Der zu 100% aus der Rebsorte Tinta del Pais, so nennt man die Sorte Tempranillo im Anbaugebiet Ribera del Duero, hergestellte Joven (Bezeichnung für den Jungwein eines spanischen Weingutes) lässt schon die Schaffenskraft der Bodega erkennen. Die entrappten Trauben wurden nach der Pressung ca. 12 Tage vergoren. Die Temperatur wurde dabei ständig überwacht. Anschließend verweilte der Wein für 6 Monate in amerikanischen Eichenfässern, um danach noch 6 Monate eine Flaschenreifung zu  erhalten, bevor er auf den Markt kam.Die Farbe des Protos Roble ist kirschrot und wirft violette Schatten. In der Nase duftet der Wein schön fruchtig und intensiv würzig ohne dabei aufdringlich zu wirken. Die festzustellenden Aromen von Blaubeere, Sauerkirsche und Waldfrüchten harmonieren mit leichten Noten von Vanille, Tabak und Kakao. Am Gaumen präsentiert sich der Wein mit fester Struktur, kraftvoll saftig und rund. Wir empfehlen den Protos Roble leicht gekühlt bei 15 Grad zu genießen, dann bleiben die fruchtigen Noten erhalten und ein elegantes Geschmackserlebnis mit langem Abgang und sanften Tanninen entsteht.Nicht nur solo kann der Protos Roble überzeugen, auch als Essensbegleiter zu Salami oder Käse gefällt er sehr gut. Gerichte auf Tomatenbasis ergänzt er ebenso wie Pasta oder gefüllte Aubergine.
