The Pedro Escudero Valdelagunde Verdejo Rueda DO is a classic Verdejo from Pedro Escudero with a yellow color and green accents.

Very intense on the nose, with balsamic notes (aniseed) and a hint of grasses (hay, fennel), and some peach fruit.

Fruity, complex and well-structured on the palate. In addition, the white wine has a nice acidity that gives it a lot of freshness, just as a Verdejo should be. The finish is long and persistent.

Die Bodegas Pedro Escudero liegt im Weinanbaugebiet Rueda, einem der aussichtsreichsten und vielseitigsten Weißweinregionen Spaniens. Die Weingüter Ruedas kultivieren mit großem Erfolg die Verdejo-Rebe, aus der auch die Bodegas Pedro Escudero hervorragende Weine keltert.

Die Familie Escudero betreibt das Weingut seit mehreren Generationen. Es befindet sich in der felsigen Gegend des Fuente Elvira Weinbergs nahe der Gemeinde La Seca.

Pedro Escudero, der die Bodegas leitet, legt großen Wert auf die Sorgfalt der Arbeit im Weinberg und ist verantwortlich für die hohe Qualität der Produkte. Die Bodegas verfügt über modernste kellertechnische Anlagen, Grundlage der sehr guten Qualität der Weine.

Besonders ist in Rueda, dass grundsätzlich nachts geerntet wird, um vorzeitige Oxidation zu vermeiden. Das Weingut umfasst 32 Hektar Anbaufläche und will in Zukunft verstärkt auf biologischen Weinanbau setzen.

The vegan wine has a tangy acidity, is full-bodied and lean.Around 200 years ago, a small stream ran through the town where Valladolid is now a sociable meeting place with many bars, but it only carried water when it had just rained and then dammed up to form a small pond. Frogs would settle there and croak in a variety of pitches. This explains the name Cantarranas = frog song. As the Viura grapes ripen earlier, the grapes were harvested at different times. The Verdejo grapes, which were harvested later, were only included in the final phase of the fermentation process.This resulted in a unique sparkling white wine with a natural sweetness, low acidity and low alcohol content.
