The Clio from Bodegas El Nido has been around since 2002. Behind this Spanish red wine from the Jumilla region are the Gil family and the renowned Australian winemaker Chris Ringland. Together they have produced an outstanding creation. This is demonstrated by the fact that the Clio has always received 90 or significantly more points in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate since 2002, the "first edition" of the wine. The most recent score was 93 points for the 2019 vintage.

The Clio from Bodegas El Nido has a wonderfully intense aroma of blueberries, blackcurrants and blackberries. There are also complex notes of mushrooms and leather as well as balsamic and mineral tones that enrich the bouquet. The long ageing in wood rounds off the bouquet with notes of vanilla as well as espresso and chocolate.

On the palate, this blend of 70% Monastrell and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon is dry, powerful and full-bodied, with an exceptional concentration of fruit. Outstanding freshness and a remarkably long finish. The tannins are masterfully integrated.

The impenetrably deep red Clio Bodegas El Nido matured for 26 months in French and American oak barriques. Old vines, meticulous grape harvesting and excellent winemaking skills: everything is just right with this Spanish red wine.

The Juan Gil Blue Label Cuvée A is an exceptional red wine from the sun-drenched region of Jumilla in south-eastern Spain. In this special vintage, the prestigious Bodegas Juan Gil winery relies entirely on the indigenous Monastrell grape variety, which represents the identity of the region like no other. Vinified as a pure variety, this wine reflects all the depth, power and elegance of old vines - a true masterpiece of Spanish winemaking.In the glass, the wine is a deep cherry red with violet reflections. The intense bouquet seduces with aromas of ripe blackberries, black cherries and plums, accompanied by fine nuances such as dark chocolate, roasted coffee, black pepper and garrigue herbs. Powerful and full-bodied on the palate, with ripe fruit, structuring but wonderfully integrated tannins and an elegant woody spiciness. The long finish is distinctive, velvety and characterized by lingering spice.The Monastrell grapes come from vines that are over 40 years old and thrive on barren, stony soils at an altitude of around 700 meters. The continental climate with hot days and cool nights ensures optimal ripening and a high concentration of aromas. After selective manual harvesting, temperature-controlled fermentation takes place to preserve the fruit. The red wine then matures for 18 months in new French and American oak barriques, giving it depth, structure and ageing potential.The Juan Gil Blue Label Monastrell is an ideal accompaniment to hearty meat dishes such as leg of lamb, game ragout, beef steak or braised oxtail. There are quite a few people who claim that Aalto wines represent the best of Spanish viticulture in the Ribera del Duero region. Every year, the Aalto wines are once again compared to those produced by the Vega Sicilia estate, and the Aalto wines often win by a nose. For more than 30 years, Mariano García Fernández, the founder of the Aalto winery, was responsible for the wines produced by the Vega Sicilia estate, of which he was the Technical Director. The grapes come mainly from very old vines that are up to 80 years old.The pure varietal Tempranillo (in the Burgos and Valladolid region better known as Tinto Fino) is a cherry red in colour. The wine offers fine notes of spices on the nose, along with light flavours of well-integrated wood. On the palate, the Aalto is wonderfully fresh and dense. Notes of tobacco, coffee and subtle aromas of liquorice reveal the unique style so typical of this Aalto. Due to its soft and round character, the wine can already be enjoyed young. Owing to the soft, enclosing tannins and a good acidity, the Aalto will increase its complexity over the coming years. The ageing of the wine in half new and half used barrels ofAmerican and French oak ensures that it will store well in the bottle. Enjoy the Aalto with a lovely beef roast or simply on its own in front of the fireplace.

This Terlan Winkl Sauvignon DOC is one of the traditional wines of the Terlan cooperative in South Tyrol, as Sauvignon Blanc has long been cultivated by the wineries in the region. The single-varietal Sauvignon matures on the fine lees for five to seven months.This white wine pours an intense straw yellow into the glass. It has a fruity aroma of apricots, mandarins and passion fruit. There are also hints of elderflower, nettle and mint. The fine fruitiness also dances on the palate, accompanied by a harmonious and fine acidity. The Sauvignon is well structured and surprises with an aromatic finish.Serve the Terlan Winkl Sauvignon DOC well chilled at a drinking temperature of 10°C-12°C. Der El Ego Bodegas Goru DOP duftet intensiv nach reifen roten Früchten. Noten von Pflaumenkompott und Blaubeermuffins sowie feine Nuancen von Nussschokolade und dezentes Süßholz prägen das Bouquet. Dazu kommen unterschwellige Röstaromen.Am Gaumen ist der Blend aus Monastrell, Syrah (Shiraz) und Petit Verdot angenehm cremig, frisch und fruchtbetont (Waldbeeren), mit geschmeidigen und reifen Tanninen. Im Glas zeigt sich dichtes Purpur mit violetten Reflexen. Vier Monate wird der spanische Rotwein im Barrique ausgebaut. Der El Goru vom Weingut Ego Boderas aus Jumilla ist ein hervorragender Begleiter zu Gegrilltem, Spanferkel und Hackfleischbällchen. Auch zu verschiedenen Käsesorten ist dieser trockene Rotwein ein echter Tipp.
