Perdeberg Vineyard Collection Pinotage

The Paarl wine region in South Africa produces excellent Pinotage wines. A very good example of this is the Perdeberg Vineyard Collection Pinotage, a great red wine with depth and power.

In the glass, this Pinotage is a deep ruby red with violet reflections. The wine smells wonderfully of plum, cherry and ripe berries, such as blackberries and blackcurrants, accompanied by a hint of vanilla. This comes from twelve months of ageing in 300 and 500 liter barrels, 95% of which were used wooden barrels. On the palate, the Perdeberg Vineyard Collection Pinotage presents itself with soft tannins and full fruit aromas. Wonderfully fleshy finish.

This Perdeberg Vineyard Collection Pinotage is suitable for vegans and tastes excellent both on its own and with food. Try it with grilled lamb, pork shoulder or mature cheese.

Perdeberg Wines

Perdeberg The Dryland Collection Courageous Chenin Blanc Barrel Fermented
Perdeberg The Dryland Collection Barrel Chenin is made in a rich and ripe wooded style. This Chenin Blanc was fermented and matured in small French oak barrels. Together with the age old traditions of Dry Land viticulture, it resulted in a very aromatic and richly textured wine, with characteristics typical to Chenin Blanc grown under these conditions.Citrus, lemon zest, dried pear, peach and apricot flavors are only some of the aromas evident in the aromatics of this wine. The palate boasts hints of honey comb, pineapple and vanilla, while the finish is crisp with a well-balanced acidity. Enjoy this wine with dishes such as Cape Malay bobotie, chicken curry or fragrant cheeses.

Barista Pinotage
A South African taste experience of intense, rich coffee and chocolate aromas with nuances of ripe mulberries, plums and cherries. This dry red wine is also the perfect accompaniment to food. It pairs very well with dark meat, creamy casseroles and even intense desserts. Also a great accompaniment to blue cheese or Belgian chocolate. Vinified ready to drink from the start for immediate enjoyment. We recommend 18 °C as the ideal drinking temperature. The Barista Pinotage from the Val De Vie vineyard is made from 100% Pinotage grapes from the Robertson region. The grapes were picked at optimum ripeness in mid-February and divided into different batches and treated in different ways.Certain batches were treated by short heating to optimize color and then returned to the skins for alcoholic fermentation. Other batches were pasteurized and immediately fermented on oak to achieve the dark, rich coffee flavors. Still other batches were fermented conventionally on the skins and pumped over several times during alcoholic fermentation and racked into French oak to complete fermentation. All batches were stabilized by malolactic fermentation in French oak.
