The South African Franschhoek Valley is the ideal terroir for the production of wine. Since the end of the 17th century, the steep Groot Drakenstein Mountains are a major factor in the creation of quality wines.

The Oude Kaap Sauvignon Blanc Reserve has a pale straw color with green hues. On the nose subtle notes of pineapple, green pepper and an invigorating minerality. This Sauvignon Blanc is remarkably fresh on the palate. The aromas of tropical fruits and hints of citrus dominate the wine which offers a slight pleasure.

Enjoy this southafrican White-wine with  delicious salads, seefood or goat cheese.

Das südafrikanische Weingut Douglas Green Bellingham, oft verkürzt nur DGB genannt, wurde offiziell 1990 gegründet. Die Wurzeln der erfolgreichen Weinproduktion reichen allerdings mehr als 300 Jahre zurück. In den Weingüter Boschendal und Bellingham stecken die Ursprünge von DGB:

Die wechselvolle Geschichte über die Jahre bedeutete Gründungen von Kooperationen, Besitzerwechsel und Neugründungen sowie Umbenennungen von Unternehmen.

Schließlich wurde 1990 Douglas Green Bellingham gegründet, und die Firmenstruktur von damals hat sich bis heute grundsätzlich gehalten. Zahlreiche Weingüter sind unter DGB zusammengeschlossen und vertreiben hier ihre Produkte. So gehören Franschhoek Vineyards und Boschendal Wines zum Unternehmen. Heute ist DGB einer der größten unabhängigen Erzeuger und Vertreiber für Wein und Spirituosen in Südafrika und steht für hervorragende Qualitätsweine, die mehrfach ausgezeichnet wurden.

The dry wine from South Africa is made from Pinotage grapes.The wine has a light pink color due to the very brief contact of the juice with the skin of the berries. The rosé is a dry, but not off-dry wine. The fruit, especially strawberry and raspberry, remains in the soft finish.A wonderfully fresh and soft wine that is a great terrace wine in summer. In winter, we recommend the Oude Kaap Rosé as a base wine for making rosé mulled wine.

The harvest took place over a period of three weeks, so that the grapes of different ripeness levels produce a greater depth of flavor.MAN Vintners Sauvignon Blanc goes wonderfully with sushi, fish, Thai cuisine and salads.
