La Bri's cuvée The Affinity is more than the sum of its parts: The wine is only produced at all if the individual grape varieties come together in perfect harmony - which is why entire vintages (2018 and 2019) were deliberately omitted. The result: a carefully composed, richly structured Bordeaux blend that reflects South African winemaking at the highest level.

Cabernet Sauvignon dominates in this powerful yet polished blend, complemented by Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The nose reveals intense aromas of ripe berries and fine mocha, while the palate is velvety smooth with fine-grained tannins and a fresh, supporting acid structure. A red wine of depth, complexity and remarkable balance.

The four grape varieties were vinified separately and then matured for 18 months in French barriques, 10% of which were new. Only then were the barrels selected and the final cuvée made - a demanding, quality-oriented process that gives the wine its balance and finesse.

Each La Bri cuvée is associated with a characteristic flower. In the Affinity Blend, the Geissorhiza radians - also known as the "wine calyx" - adorns the label. The deep blue flower with a red core symbolizes the depth, concentration and harmony of this exceptional wine.

Perfect with braised beef, lamb chops, grilled vegetables or mature hard cheese. This blend is also an elegant accompaniment to game dishes with a fruity sauce.

Das Boutique-Weingut La Bri liegt eingebettet in das historische Franschhoek-Tal – eine der ältesten und charmantesten Weinregionen Südafrikas. Gegründet im 17. Jahrhundert, verbindet La Bri heute reiche Tradition mit modernem Weinhandwerk. Der Name „La Bri“ stammt vom französischen Wort „l’abri“, was „Zuflucht“ bedeutet – eine Anspielung auf die hugenottische Geschichte der Region.

La Bri steht für charaktervolle, handgefertigte Weine mit unverwechselbarem Ausdruck des Terroirs. Die Reben gedeihen auf sonnenverwöhnten Hanglagen mit fruchtbaren, gut drainierten Böden – ideale Bedingungen für Rebsorten wie Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon sowie Chenin Blanc und Chardonnay. The Double Door Red Blend combines 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot and 6% Cabernet Franc to create a harmonious whole with structure, finesse and elegance.Only grapes from the estate were used for this wine. After fermentation, the individual batches matured for 24 months in used French barriques before being blended into a precisely balanced cuvée. The longer maturation period ensures a harmonious balance between fruit, spice and velvety tannins.The La Bri Double Door Red Blend impresses with a deep dark color and aromas of blackcurrants, plums, spices and fine roasted aromas. La Bri Syrah is an aromatic red wine from Franschhoek full of character, reminiscent of the great tradition of the Côte Rôtie thanks to the combination of Syrah and a hint of Viognier. A beguiling bouquet of lavender, thyme, violets and oriental spices unfolds in the glass - like a walk through a Mediterranean herb garden.The two grape varieties were harvested together in the last week of February and co-fermented to achieve a particularly intense interplay of aromas. Malolactic fermentation took place in barrels, after which the wine matured for 24 months in selected French oak barrels of 225 and 300 liters. This maturation gives the wine structure, depth and silky tannins.On the palate, La Bri Syrah is multi-layered, with dark fruit, floral notes and fine herbal spice. The tannins are polished and harmoniously integrated, while the acidity provides freshness and elegance. Der Wein The Owl Post Pinotage von Neethlingshof stammt aus dem gleichnamigen Weinberg. Unter anderem in diesem Weinberg wird mit einem integrierten Schädlingsmanagement gearbeitet, was ein Teil des Fokus ist auf das sich das Weingut Neethlingshof konzentriert. Dafür wurden Eulenpfähle im Weinberg platziert umso eine natürliche Schädlingsbekämpfung zu unterstützen und den Einsatz von Pestiziden zu verringern. Die Weinberge wurden 1997 bepflanzt und sind reich an organischem Material. Sie liegen auf einer Höhe von 120 Metern und bestehen vornehmlich aus zersetztem Granit. Der Neethlingshof The Owl Post Pinotage hat eine tiefrote Farbe, eine komplexe Textur mit schwarzen und roten Früchten. Die Tannine sind wunderbar eingebunden und werden von einer feinen Säure unterstützt. Das Bouquet zeigt reife Fruchtaromen, unter anderem Banane.
