The 100% Kanonkop Pinotage from winemaker Abrie Beeslaar offers a variety of red fruit aromas. A lush yet elegant wine with pleasantly integrated ripe tannins.

The wine from the Stellenbosch region matured for 16 months in French oak barrels, 80% of which were new. In addition, 20% are second-fill barrels. A remarkable red wine that can be stored for at least another 20 years under appropriate conditions.

Enjoy the Kanonkop Pinotage as a younger wine with red meat or spicy Asian dishes. As an older wine, it is recommended with lamb, among other things.

Das Weingut Kanonkop liegt an den unteren Hängen des Simonsberges in der Stellenbosch-Region der Westkap Provinz. Es liegt zwischen Stellenbosch und Paarl und fällt in den Simonsberg genannten Wahlkreis, der allgemein als „Rotweinbecken“ Südafrikas bezeichnet wird.

Neben der soliden Basis des Gutes in seinen Prinzipien der Weinherstellung, ist es auch reich an idealen Böden, kühlen Meeresbrisen und langen Sommertagen, die ein perfektes Klima für das Wachstum der Trauben bilden.

Das Weingut hat ein ideales Mikroklima für die Produktion von Rotwein, mit einer kühlen Brise von der Küste der False Bay an späten Sommernachmittagen, wodurch die hohen Inlandstemperaturen erheblich gemildert werden.

Diesel Pinotage is certainly an unusual name for a wine. However, it quickly becomes clear when you know the story behind it. Diesel was the name of Beyers Truters, owner of Beyerskloof, dog and a beloved and loyal, constant companion of his master. The dog was not only to be found in the vineyard, but also in the cellar or next to the desk. So it was clear for Beyers Truter to name his best wine after his "best" friend.The grapes for the Beyerskloof Diesel Pinotage come from bushvine vines. This type of cultivation is frequently used in South Africa, especially for Pinotage. The fermentation process took place over 5 days in open barrels at an average temperature of 26 degrees Celsius. The mash was pressed down every 2 hours. Malolactic fermentation then took place in stainless steel tanks. New French oak barrels were used for the 21-month maturation. Of the 300 barrels filled, only 20 barrels were ultimately selected for the Diesel Pinotage.The color of the Beyerskloof Diesel Pinotage is deep purple. The bouquet is characterized by complex blackberry aromas and dark fruits, surrounded by an elegant cedar wood note. The palate reveals a fine but complex structure of black and red fruits. A truly great red wine that impresses with an excellent balance of fruit and wood. A wine with outstanding potential that will continue to give pleasure in 10 years or more.The ideal accompaniment to spicy Indian dishes or a well-matured rump steak. Beyerskloof Diesel is probably one of the best Pinotage from the Cape.

Der Delheim Vera Cruz Pinotage hat ein tiefes Pupurrot. In der Nase zeigen sich bei dem Rotwein Noten von reifen dunklen Früchten, integrierte Vanille- und Toffeenoten und ein Hauch von Gewürzen. Am Gaumen ist der Wein aus Südafrika saftig, voll und rund mit einem langen Abgang.Dieser Pinotage stammt von einer Einzellage mit unbewässerten bush-vines, also Reben ohne Drahtrahmenerziehung. Natürlicher Weingenuss par excellence. Die Trauben für den reinsortigen Pinotage aus Stellenbosch in Südafrika wurden akribisch gelesen; es wurden nur die besten Trauben bester Qualität geerntet. Die erste Sortierung wurde bereits in den Weinbergen vorgenommen. Der Delheim Vera Cruz Pinotage reifte für 18 Monate in 300L und 500L Fässern aus französischer Eiche, wobei zu 35% neue Fässer zum Einsatz kamen.

The grapes for the Lanzerac Pinotage come from vineyards located at an altitude of between 400 and 420 meters above sea level. The prevailing wind here helps to cool the grapes in hot summers. The soils consist mainly of decomposed granite, which favors the deep growth of the vines and the soil retains water better.Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with regular pumping over. First, second and third-fill oak barrels were used to mature the Lanzerac Pinotage. Maturation took place over a period of 15 months. At this point, the optimal integration between wood and fruit was complete. The result is an excellent color and a scent of ripe berries and plums. On the palate, the red wine is velvety dense, full-bodied, complex and beautifully balanced. Aromas of high-quality chocolate and notes of caramel delight the palate with wonderfully integrated tannins.Enjoy the Lanzerac Pinotage with venison medallions in plum sauce or an Asian curry dish.

Der Wein The Owl Post Pinotage von Neethlingshof stammt aus dem gleichnamigen Weinberg. Unter anderem in diesem Weinberg wird mit einem integrierten Schädlingsmanagement gearbeitet, was ein Teil des Fokus ist auf das sich das Weingut Neethlingshof konzentriert. Dafür wurden Eulenpfähle im Weinberg platziert umso eine natürliche Schädlingsbekämpfung zu unterstützen und den Einsatz von Pestiziden zu verringern. Die Weinberge wurden 1997 bepflanzt und sind reich an organischem Material. Sie liegen auf einer Höhe von 120 Metern und bestehen vornehmlich aus zersetztem Granit. Der Neethlingshof The Owl Post Pinotage hat eine tiefrote Farbe, eine komplexe Textur mit schwarzen und roten Früchten. Die Tannine sind wunderbar eingebunden und werden von einer feinen Säure unterstützt. Das Bouquet zeigt reife Fruchtaromen, unter anderem Banane. Im Hintergrund stellt sich eine schöne Vanillenote ein. Am Gaumen wiederholen sich Reife und Fruchtintensität. Der The Owl Post Pinotage ist reichhaltig und samtig. Der südafrikanische Wein reifte für 15 Monate in Eichenfässern. Genießen Sie diesen außergewöhnlichen Wein zu gegrilltem rotem Fleisch oder Wild mit scharfen Saucen.
