Groote Post Salt of the Earth Cinsault / Shiraz

The Groote Post Salt of The Earth comes from the renowned Groote Post winery in the Darling District and is a red wine full of character with particular depth and authentic expression. It is based on Cinsault, supplemented by a proportion of Shiraz, and combines juicy fruit, spice and an elegant structure to create an unmistakable overall picture.

The nose reveals aromas of dark plums and cherries, accompanied by black pepper, fynbos notes and a subtle mineral freshness. On the palate, the red wine is juicy and supple with soft tannins, lively fruit and a good balance between freshness and spice. The Shiraz provides depth and structure, while the Cinsault from old bush vines stands for elegance and freshness.

The grapes come from Hutton soils at an altitude of around 200 meters. Shiraz and Cinsault are cultivated separately in the vineyard, harvested together and then fermented together, which gives the wine a special harmony. The wine is aged for 15 months in 500-liter French barrels, some new and some used, which enhances both structure and finesse.

Groote Post Salt of The Earth is a versatile red wine that goes particularly well with grilled meat, lamb dishes or Mediterranean cuisine. The recommended drinking temperature is 16-18 °C.

Groote Post Vineyards

Anthonij Rupert Optima
From the flagship range of Anthonij Rupert from Franschhoek in South Africa, we present the Optima. A cuvée made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. It is therefore a so-called Bordeaux blend.A dark purple color in the glass already gives an idea of the complexity of this red wine. The nose is seductive and dense. The Anthonij Rupert Optima has a wonderful aroma of pepper and dark fruit. The palate is wonderfully elegant and smooth, with notes of blueberry, cassis, cedar wood, violets, cocoa and cigar box. The velvety texture with fine, polished tannins gives the wine a special sophistication. The oak aromas are always harmoniously integrated. The Optima spends 20 months in barrique barrels, which gives it a rich aroma.A special red wine in every respect. Anthonij Rupert Optima is best enjoyed with grilled steak or an Indian curry dish.
