Red Heads Coco Rotie Syrah Viognier

The small, aromatic Shiraz grapes from the McLaren Vale region come from vines that are more than 30 years old, forming the basis for the RedHeads Coco Rotie Syrah Viognier. On the nose, the red wine from Australia offers notes of raspberries, blackberries and apricots (resulting from the Viognier grape variety). The bouquet is complemented by nuances of dark chocolate, raspberry liquor and smoky notes of cedar and vanilla. The wine is velvety on the palate, showing a strong tannin structure and a great density.

The RedHeads Coco Rotie Syrah Viognier matured for 14 months in oak casks, of which 20% were new barrels. This wine leaves almost nothing to be desired with regard to the complexity and fruity intensity. Try this Shiraz-Viognier blend with beef or lamb.

RedHeads Wine

Langmeil 'Valley Floor' Shiraz
The Barossa Region is known for its viticulture and wine making. At its heart is the valley floor, a rich strip of land exposed to the driest conditions and home to some of the most select Shiraz vineyards of the area. The ‘Valley Floor Shiraz', like other premium wines of the Barossa, is a regional blended wine. Grapes are sourced from specially selected vineyards across all the sub regions of the Barossa from a range of different aged vines, select parcels of which are then open fermented and basket pressed to make this classic example of honest, hand made Barossa Valley Shiraz.

19 Crimes "The Uprising" Red
‘The Uprising’ is a wine that was aged for 30 days in rum barrels and is a tribute to Australia’s Rum Rebellion of 1808. As the rum trade was hindered by the government at that time, citizens and soldiers joined together to bring down the government. The ageing in rum barrels gives this wine its dark, jammy body and a finish characterised by notes of warm brown sugar. The grapes for the 19 Crimes ‘The Uprising’ come from selected vineyards that are renowned for their spice and concentration, giving the wine its great intensity and sensational flavour. In the 2019 vintage, the Shiraz grape variety is predominant, giving the wine light notes of raspberries and a fine tannin structure. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes produce lovely blackberry aromas and ensure fullness and structure on the palate. The ‘The Uprising’ is rounded off by a smaller percentage of Grenache, giving the wine its spice and sweet fruitiness. On the nose, the wine offers intense notes of mocha, caramel and baking flavours.Like all wines of the 19 crimes line, ‘The Uprising’ has a history of its own:The man depicted on the label was a member of the Fenian brotherhood from Skibbereen in Ireland who played a major role in the Fenian movement right from the beginning. In 1864, he was arrested, found guilty, sentenced to ten years in prison and deported to Australia.

Zenato Ripassa della Valpolicella
The Zenato Ripassa della Valpolicella from Zenato is a carefully composed product that convincingly combines the best characteristics of the Valpolicella wines of Veneto. A second fermentation of the batches from Valpolicella and six months of ageing in the bottle give the wine a very intense, long character. The deep red, velvety color alone gives an idea of the broad tableau with which this wine will impress. And the Ripassa does not disappoint. Complex berry aromas delight the nose and palate. The extremely long finish lingers gently on the tongue and is one of the strongest characteristics of this wine from Italy. The Ripassa della Valpolicella has brought the Zinato winery to the attention of wine connoisseurs who like to experiment. We recommend a drinking temperature of 18°C. Strong game and red meat are the best aromatic counterweights for this wine.
