On the Glenwood estate, the 28-year-old vines of the Glenwood Grand Duc Chardonnay ripen on carefully tended plots. The low foliage allows the grapes optimal sun exposure, while minimal irrigation and slow ripening produce small, highly concentrated grapes that develop the full aroma of this top Chardonnay.

After gentle whole-cluster pressing and 14-day fermentation with wild yeast, this white wine matures for 20 months on the fine lees in 100% new 500-liter French oak barrels. The result is a creamy, full-bodied Chardonnay with a fine vanilla toast note and a finish of ripe pineapple, marmalade and fresh citrus notes.

Enjoy this Glenwood Grand Duc Chardonnay with creamy poultry dishes, fried fish or mild cheese - ideally at 10-12 °C to allow the aromas to fully develop.

After a night in cold storage, the whole grapes were gently pressed. This careful vinification gives the wine its fine woody spice, structure and depth without losing its freshness.In the glass, La Bri Barrel Select Chardonnay reveals an elegant interplay of fresh citrus fruit, juicy stone fruit notes and fine minerality. Creamy but focused on the palate, with animating acidity and a long, taut finish. In 1914, Elizabeth Katherina English bought the Schoongezicht farm and renamed it Lanzerac. In the following years, one of the most modern wineries at that time was created at the Cape. In order to pay tribute to this impressive woman, this wonderful Chardonnay was produced.The grapes for the Lanzerac Mrs. English Chardonnay come from a single vineyard located in the Jonkershoek valley. The vines are more than 20 years old and are situated 375 metres above sea level. The wine gleams flaxen in the glass and offers citrus aromas on the nose. On the palate, this marvellously complex wine is full-bodied and long-lasting. It was aged in new and used barrels, giving the wine a beautifully clear balance and lots of character. The Mrs. English Chardonnay is wonderfully rounded off by a pre-eminent fruitiness. The Delaire Graff estate is renowned for its elegant, multi-layered wines. The Banghoek Chardonnay from the eponymous valley located northwest of Stellenbosch in South Africa is the best evidence of this. The valley provides ideal conditions for the Chardonnay grapes, sufficient humidity and balanced sunlight on the slopes. The grapes were harvested by hand in the cool morning hours over a period of 14 days, based on the grapes’ level of maturity. After pressing, the wine was fermented in barrels. Subsequently, the Delaire Graff Banghoek Chardonnay matured for 10 months in barriques, of which 40% were new French oak casks.The wine has a wonderfully clear bouquet hinting of vanilla and peaches, along with nuances of honey. On the palate, the Banghoek Chardonnay is multi-layered, marvellously fresh and very elegant. Its long-lasting finish is characterised by a lovely minerality.

Was dieser Rosé-Schaumwein in der Nase und am Gaumen bietet, ist seit Jahrhunderten großartig. Hinzu kommt nun ein weiteres optisches – und vor allem – nachhaltiges Glanzlicht. Eine faszinierende, edle Papierhülle in Form der Champagnerflasche und damit eine Geschenkverpackung, die ihresgleichen sucht. Aber der Reihe nach. Das Bukett des Champagner Ruinart Rosé ist herrlich animierend. Es vereint delikat-frische Noten von exotischen Früchten wie Guave und Litschi mit anregenden Noten kleiner roter Früchte wie Himbeeren, Kirschen und Walderdbeeren. Noten von Rosen und Granatapfel runden den komplexen Duftstrauß ab. Josh Raynolds vergibt 2015 für den Champagner Ruinart Rosé 92 Punkte und schreibt für Vinous unter anderem: „Das komplexe, aromenreiche Duftspiel dieses hellorange schimmernden Weins besticht durch dominante Noten von roten Beeren und Mandarine, die mit Piment und Zimt rivalisieren und mit einem Hauch rauchiger Würze unterlegt sind.“ Der Schaumwein zeige sich saftig und mineralisch am Gaumen, mit Nuancen frischer Erdbeeren und Blutorange und wundervoll integrierter Säure. Im Glas funkelt der Ruinart Rosé zart granatrosa mit sehr leichten, orangefarbenen Reflexen. Dazu kommt eine feine, lebendige Perlage. Dieser Champagner ist eine Assemblage aus 45% Chardonnay (von der Côte des Blancs und der Montagne de Reims) und 55% Pinot Noir (aus der Montagne de Reims und dem Marne-Tal). Der Chardonnay steht für die aromatische Frische, Pinot Noir für Körperreichtum und Struktur. 18 bis 19 Prozent der Trauben wurden rot gekeltert.Ruinart ist das älteste noch bestehende Champagnerhaus der Welt (1729 gegründet). Vor mehr als 250 Jahren soll Ruinart den ersten Rosé-Champagner verschifft haben.
